Trinity

POETRY - Trinity

Introducing our book: Listen Carefully to Me

A Listen Carefully to Me book extract: 14th October
You see two triangles at work: the Trinity you know of (our Father, Myself and My Spirit) and the triangle you understand less well of (Myself, My Spirit and yourself). These two triangles interlock with a star-like quality of brightly shining mystery. We can lighten any darkness, penetrate/reach anywhere on earth. Nowhere is too distant, lying without Our sphere of influence.

TRINITY - A SELECTON OF POEMS

“You will keep him (her) in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You. Trust in the LORD forever, for in YAH, the LORD is everlasting strength.” (Isaiah 26 v 3, 4) Lord, holy Trinity, God Almighty, Daily I would praise You, Adore You, amaze at Your goodness, Your kindness, Your forgiveness, All Your steadfast faithfulness towards us. For I must worship, truly I must, To express my gratitude to You. Appreciation of who You are, A total unity of love which is holy, A real family, tangible, audible. “Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be.” (Traditional Catholic Prayer) I would add exultation as to Your character, As manifest in the living Word of Jesus, Loving us back into wholeness By the amazingly powerful Spirit of love. As to who You are, what You are, I call to mind all You do to bless us. Manifold blessings are forthcoming daily, As You form or rather re-form us For Your own holy purpose of salvation. Together You are our Redeemer, all praise ever be. “ ‘In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and confidence shall be your strength’.” (Isaiah 30 v 15) “For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you’.” (Luke 17 v 21) We, Your anointed family – all thanks to the Redeemer, our Saviour the Lord Jesus and the sanctifying Spirit ever at work with us – yes, we as family “Shall have joy in Your strength, O LORD.” (Psalm 21 v 1) Not our strength, we have none, but Yours. Yours together as a Trinity, a perfect family, Yours is the power of holy love. “And in Your salvation, how greatly we rejoice!” (Cont) Truly we will. Daily we will rejoice. “You have given us our heart’s desire,” (based on v 2) Yourself dearest Father, by means of the Lord Jesus at work in the Spirit. “You have not withheld the request of our lips.” (Cont) “For You meet us with the blessings of goodness.” (based on v 3) Your word narrated in sacred Scripture is life to us, true life, a worthwhile life, lifted above mere existence. “We asked life from You and You gave it to us – length of days forever and ever.” (based on v 4) In the Lord Jesus, by the work of the Spirit, You gifted us dearest Father, a Saviour. “Our glory is great in Your salvation” (based on v 5) as we invite the Lord Jesus to live within us, appointed daily by the Spirit purifying and preparing us for this highest honour. “Honour and majesty You have placed before us” (Cont) in inviting us to share in the holiness of the Lord Jesus, His love saving us from separation from You, Lord God. “You have made us exceedingly glad with Your presence” (based on v 7) truly You have. Our faith is such a power of love offering us hope, peace and true joy, an eternal joy, thank You. “For we trust in You LORD, and through Your mercy Most High, we shall not be moved,” ( v 7) snatched away again by satan. For thankfully this is no longer possible because of the Lord Jesus’ victory at the †. “Be exalted, O LORD, in Your own strength!” (v 13) as mercifully shown to us. Daily let us praise and thank You for all Your mercies, Elyon, Lord God, Most High. “Mercy and truth have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed.” (Psalm 85 v 10) We learn this when taught by Jesus as Your abiding Word of truth, open to the Spirit’s inspiration. You restore us to Your favour and we are, of all peoples the most privileged,, by enjoying entering and maintaining a new life in Jesus, as appointed by the Spirit. “There shall spring out of the earth” in the Saviour’s holy birth, “And righteousness shall look down from heaven” (v 11) as we are taught to call Him ‘Jesus’, He being the One to save us from our sinfulness. We venerate the † of our redemption, giving all praise with ardent thanksgiving for being able to live afresh in Jesus, by means of forgiveness, repentance and the indwelling Spirit. “Yes, You LORD will give what is good” the blessings of salvation. “And our land will yield its increase” (based on v 12) in holiness, in Christian service, whereby we love to delight and honour You Father, in Your Son, by Your Spirit. This You make possible through the Lord Jesus living in and amongst us by the Holy Spirit, who upbuilds our friendship on a daily basis as long as we pray. “Righteousness will go before Him and shall make His footsteps our pathway,” (v 13) all glory ever, ever be to the almighty Trinity, One God in Three all holy Persons. May the Spirit ever make us fruitful in our daily life offered in Christian service, filling us by the gifting of Jesus’ love, developing then our charisms which Father, You gift for the wellbeing of society in general. Let us then ever keep to all that is holy and will honour You. May we live to delight You, offering back our praises for every life well lived in Your pleasure. I ask that daily we meet with You in prayer, for here more good things happen than we can possibly imagine, dream of or even ask for, as You are Sovereign in power, majesty and authority, and supreme in love and mercy. May nothing ever separate us from the love of the Lord Jesus, as in sharing His holiness, made real to us by the Spirit, we hope for a better, brighter, holier life in general now, and the fuller life beyond the grave. Lord God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, for all You are to us, all You mean to us, all You do for us, all You teach us by, to lead us into a life of full holiness, I praise and thank You. You are our Father, Brother and sanctifying Spirit, One Lord over heaven and earth. We praise and adore You, bow low before You and joyously worship. Amen. 27.11.20 Sue O’Donnell

Where do you find these characteristics? Only in the friendship of Jesus, For He is God’s Son, the holy One. Much loved by the Father, Jesus as Lord and Word, knows how to love us. “For the sake of Your servant, O LORD, and according to You will, You have done all these great things and have made them known.” (1 Chronicles 17 v 19) What are these great things? The creation of the world In all its outstanding beauty, Us being the pinnacle of holy work. The Trinity have made us In their own likeness and image. Creation was followed by protection, And direction as to what was allowed, Plus vitally, what was forbidden. Somehow, somewhere, someone, then everyone, disobeyed. This brought chaos amongst us. “When self-indulgence is at work the results are obvious: sexual vice, impurity, and sensuality, the worship of false gods and sorcery; antagonisms and rivalry, jealousy, bad temper and quarrels, disagreements, factions and malice, drunkenness, orgies and all such things. And about these, I tell you now as I have told you in the past, that people who behave in these ways will not inherit the kingdom of God.” (Galatians 5 v 19, 20, 21 TNJB) Society became broken, in need of a solution. The resolution to love us remained firm however. Therefore, Father God, almighty in power Out of nothing but love for us, You sent Your Son to redeem humanity. Love became manifest in the Person of Christ Jesus. He lived to show us how to live Sending His Spirit of holiness for this purpose. Christ Jesus died willingly, giving up His body, Sacrificed at the †to earn forgiveness for us. Thus the world is saved from condemnation and final damnation. “Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; and let those who love Your salvation say continually, ‘Let God be magnified’.” (Psalm 70 v 4) Salvation is a heavenly process Using holy love and mercy in sovereign authority. We are rescued from our enemies of self-will, Self-delusion, self-acceptance, self-righteousness. This is replaced mercifully, by holy wisdom Which spells out the truth to us. We have no life of value inherently. We have to turn to the Lord Jesus as Saviour And look to the Holy Spirit as Purifier. Only those with a good and sound morality Will come to share in holy glory eternally. “This is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing His glory.” (Colossians 1 v 27 NLT) Our knowledge of acceptance and deliverance Is learned, earned as we pray and study. Study the sacred Scriptures, the written word of life, Which are vividly emphasised by Christ Jesus’ example. The Holy One, God’s Son, is our right standing. In this position is His commanding over us. Christ Jesus wishes for us to be submissive To His teaching in all truth and His working of faith. The ugly strife is sin is being lifted from us, In the love of our Saviour Brother, According to the working of the Holy Spirit of faith. “So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.” (Galatians 5 v 16 NLT) Our redemption, our salvation result in re-creation. All glory ever be now and eternally, To the venerable Three, in love’s unity. Remarkably we are invited to join their company. This can only be holy love at work. Love gave birth to us and equipped our homeland. Love rescued us from all that is evil. Love restored us to each and every grace and holy favour. Now it is up to us, to respond and love in our turn. “Rescue me from my enemies, O LORD, for I hide myself in You.” (Psalm 143 v 9 NIV) “You are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel. Our ancestors trusted in You and You rescued them.” (Psalm 22 v 3, 4 NLT) Let us pray in all thanksgiving. “I was thrust into Your arms at my birth. You have been my God from the moment I was born.” (Psalm 22 v 10 NLT) Let us pray to express our appreciation for all aspects of creation, redemption, salvation and re-creation. “The LORD is my Shepherd; I have all that I need.” (Psalm 23 v 1 NLT) “He leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength.” (v 2) Let us pray to offer all thanks for the Lord Jesus’ friendship. “He guides me along right paths, bringing honour to His holy name.” (v 3) Let us pray with gratitude for the gifting of the Holy Spirit. “Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for You are close behind me.” (v 4) Let us pray counting the blessings as best we can, seeing how they apply to us personally. “Your rod and Your staff protect and comfort me.” (v 4 cont) Let us pray, pleased to receive both the prod of correction and the uplift of support and encouragement. “You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies.” (v 5) Let us pray in adoration, extolling the Sacramental Mystery of the Holy Eucharist. This celebration means “Surely Your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever.” (v 6) Let us pray to the Holy Trinity in all highest praise and warmest thanksgiving. For they are life to us, a life being made holy. Holiness is expressed when we follow the command of the Lord Jesus strictly, when asked which is the most important commandment, replying it is to love fully. (Matthew 22 v 36, 37, 38) Let us pray to show our gratitude for all the help we are given by the Trinity. “There are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word and the Holy Spirit, and these three are One.” (1 John 5 v 7 Vulgate) “God’s will for you is to be holy...live in holiness and honour...” (1 Thessalonians 4 v 3, 4 NLT) The Holy Trinity is to ever be praised. Let us pray to magnify and glorify their love for us, all the good which results. “The Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control” (Galatians 5 v 22, 23 NLT) a foretaste of heaven upon earth. All glory ever be to the Almighty Trinity. Let us offer our praise daily. Amen. 16.02.21 Sue O’Donnell

“I will praise You forever, for what You have done, and shall trust in Your name, so full of goodness, in the presence of Your faithful.” (Psalm 52 v 9 TNJB) O Lord, so much have You done for us, In, through and by the Lord Jesus, Fully alive to us by the Holy Spirit. Firstly You create us and provide well for us, In this most beautiful of planets, the earth. You made us to be Your own family, But catastrophically we ruined this by our sinfulness. “ ‘But My people would not hear My voice, and Israel would have none of Me. So I gave them over to their own stubborn heart, to walk in their own counsels’.” (Psalm 81 v 11, 12) Not defeated by satan and his minions, You devised the plan of salvation, Your invaluable gift of freedom for every nation, As given through our Saviour Redeemer, the Lord Jesus. Our Brother is called to be our Redeemer At the †of justice, winning forgiveness for us. “To the end that our glory may sing praises to You, and not be silent. O LORD, my God, we will give thanks to You forever.” (Psalm 30 v 12 the singular subject changed to plural) How great is Your love for us, That mercy poured out over us, By such grace and goodness ever at work in our Saviour, As brought and taught by the Holy Spirit. Never, ever are we neglected, ignored nor forgotten. Oh the magnitude, might and marvel of Your love for us, A love verified by the Lord Jesus and glorified by the Spirit of holiness. “Look to us and be merciful to us, as Your custom is toward those who love Your name.” (Psalm 119 v 132 the singular invocation changed to plural) You guide us and safeguard us as we pray. You gift us the sacraments of Your grace. All as we turn to Jesus, trusting in You, Opening to the Holy Spirit, relying upon Him, As most gloriously He enlightens us regarding the Lord Jesus, Making us diligent prayerfully and attentive spiritually. “The Lord is good to all and His tender mercies are over all His works.” (Psalm 145 v 9) “My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love Thee. I ask forgiveness for those who do not believe in Thee, do not adore Thee, do not hope in Thee, do not love Thee.” (The Fatima Centre U.S.A.) Lord, “Direct our steps by Your word,” the living Word of the Lord Jesus, and the written word of sacred Scripture. “And let no iniquity have dominion over us,” (Psalm 119 v 133 the singular subject changed to plural) for we plead mercy at the †of Jesus our Saviour. Forgiveness is at the heart of our faith, that gracious, loving kindness You freely offer us through the love of Jesus and the working of the Holy Spirit calling us to purity. You have raised up for us a mighty Saviour as You promised us of old, that we can serve You honourably by means of the Lord Jesus’ holiness shared with us, and the justice won for us by Him, at the †. How strong Your love for us is, how profound Your mercy. May the Holy Spirit enable all peoples to understand this and not block their understanding by wilful sinning, by being apathetic, nor careless, nor content to remain in ignorance. You offer us the true fullness of a life lived in hope of heaven, in joy in the here and now, our best Friend being Jesus accompanied by the Holy Spirit, our peace re-established at the † of forgiveness, so we dare to look to Your mercy. Ever let us praise You as a Trinity of love and mercy, leading us out of the darkness of sin, into the wonderful light of love the Lord Jesus shines upon us, that all the world may come to faith in Him. Without the knowledge, understanding and the fullness the friendship of the Lord Jesus offers us in the Spirit, our life is pointless, meaningless, futile, unfruitful and unsatisfactory, a nothingness experienced. But in Your love, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, everything changes for the better more and more, until finally we reach the best in Your company in heaven, where the greatness of Your love will be completely apparent to us. Until then we are on a journey of faith. Please accompany us onwards and homewards, for You, Lord God, holy Trinity, One God in Three Persons, all equal, are the deity who cares for everything and everybody, sovereignly. The gifts of Your grace make us fervent in our belief that the power of holy love conquers all that is evil as long as we are watchful in keeping Your commands. When we fail, please grant us the gift of repentance. Lord God, holy Father, “Save me by Your name,” which I know stands for all loving mercy. “In Your power vindicate me,” or else the Lord Jesus has suffered the †in vain. Lord God, “Hear my prayer, listen to the words I speak.”(Psalm 54 v 1, 2 TNJB) May these arise out of my love and respect for the holy Trinity. I pray, You act in mercy! “Now God is coming to my help, the Lord, among those who sustain me,” (v 4) my other brothers and sisters as we are made one family in the Lord Jesus. “How gladly I will offer You sacrifice and praise Your name for it is good.” (v 6) What is this sacrifice to be? A gift of my time, my energy, my resources certainly. Anything else, dearest Father? The words ‘Listening ear’ come to my mind. Please help me to re-develop this as I pray, listening not only to learn, but to share Your wisdom and truth as made plain by Jesus, in the Holy Spirit, a rich, rich, invaluably rich bounty. Please help me learn this then share this. Lord Jesus, I ask You to be my constant Friend and daily companion. Please gift me Your Spirit at all times, so I know how to live to give of my best to a life of faith, of Christian service in response to Your love for us in all its glorious, majestic power, a most holy power, all thanks to the Spirit. I ask that in my talk of You, my witness, my life enlarged through prayer, You come to dwell within me by Your Spirit, the result being a blessed power of holy love I can share widely amongst many. As I try to plumb the depths of Your love for us Father God, as glorified by the Lord Jesus, as verified by the Holy Spirit, I ask to broadcast that holy love “...in which all the jewels of wisdom and knowledge are hidden.” (Colossians 2 v 3) You are the way to unlock this richness as the Spirit works with us to oil faith’s response to You, enabling the virtuous to shine like the sun in Your kingdom on earth. We need ears that hear, eyes that see and hearts that respond to the call of the Trinity of love. It is the Spirit who issues this Your call Lord Jesus, according to the will of our Father. “Now the Spirit is the Spirit of the Lord God and where His Spirit is present, people have been set free,”( 2 Corinthians 3 v 17 The Truth) truly free in You, Lord and Saviour, Brother and Redeemer. “We are able to reflect the Lord’s glory”, or should be, will be, hopefully “The more that glory is revealed in us, the more like You we become!” (based on v 18) So, - the result is truly, wonderfully, marvellously glorious! – “This glory that comes from the Lord is continually increasing in our lives because the Spirit of glory lives in us.” (Cont.) How utterly amazing is this, truly life changing as we move from Your glory into an even greater, more accurate reflection, bathed in the power of holy love. The power of holy love, the power of the Trinity is incredible! This love is powerful to the working of miracles, a higher force at work than humanity alone could ever hope or even strive to accomplish. Lord, You are the God of wonders, thank You for Your divine nature transforming us by holiness. May we ever fully trust in You as a Trinity, all You are, stand for, accomplish and promise. All You did achieve at the † of our forgiveness, such an act of marvellous loving kindness, full mercy. Let us all pray; listen, look and learn more from You, about You, as You come to us to set us free from satan and sin’s eternal separation inflicting hell upon us. All this is changed by You as Saviour, as Redeemer, as Restorer. All achieved by the power of holy love which like the Lord Jesus residing closest to Your heart of love holy Father, according to the working of the Spirit, will accomplish the same for us. We are made to be family by You, in You, through You, a Trinity of love. Please ever come to us, rest upon us, save, purify and sanctify us all, as we learn to pray, trust and depend entirely upon You, believing we can receive because we do! Then all glory, all praise, all admiration, all adoration ever, ever be to the Almighty Trinity, acting as One in love and mercy. This is why and how we rejoice. Thank You so very, very much, for being forever our Saviour, calling us to respond to Your power of holy love. May we do so unhesitatingly. Amen. 22.07.20 Sue O’Donnell

“By Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks in His name.” (Hebrews 13 v 15) Lord Jesus, You are My Holiness, My happiness, My life’s purpose. For You make sense Of the daily toil, Whereby we spoil Mankind’s society frequently. But the Lord, the Almighty, Out of every loving mercy, Sent You to us . Lord Jesus, You are Our Saviour. Our Redeemer, Yet our Brother, We can relate to readily. For You are remarkably, God and Man. Holy love is manifest. This is our Father’s reason For sending You to us, To save and sanctify us. Yet You stood up to this As You live prayerfully, Devoted completely to our Father’s will. Lord Jesus, You are With us in the Holy Eucharist. Your holy blood cleanses us. Your holy body nourishes faith. You are new life to us Joining our efforts To Your victory at the †. We do not deserve this, But know it as grace. All blessings be In our unity with You. Lord Jesus, You are God’s love manifest To help us pass life’s test. You remain with us In the sacred Scriptures, In the sacraments, In Your earthly body, The Church triumphant on earth, And in each other When we discover How powerful it is to pray. Lord Jesus, You are our offering, Our worship, our good progress. By this we honour our Father And hope to delight Him, As by the Holy Spirit, We unite ourselves with You, Fully, daily in Your service. Life is transformed by the holy. You make us happy thereby. What joy You bring! You earn us this mercy And make us righteous. Lord Jesus, You are The Name above all names, The Alpha and Omega, The living, abiding Word, God’s wisdom made evident. God’s truth made prevalent. The source of the Holy Spirit, Sending us a Helper. He is another one like You, Perfectly holy, imbuing new life, Fresh hope, better ambition. “Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus.” (Hebrews 3 v 1) “Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.” (Hebrews 3 v 6) Let us pray. “For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end.” (Hebrews 3 v 14) The Lord Jesus is the answer to anything and everything. Let us pray “Lest there be in any of us an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God.” (based on Hebrews 3 v 12) Let us pray because the Lord Jesus “Is the Mediator of the new covenant by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.” (Hebrews 9 v 15) Let us pray to “Hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” (Hebrews 10 v 23) Let us pray because “Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for (s)he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” (Hebrews 11 v 6) Let us pray to “Consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest we become weary and discouraged in our souls.” (based on Hebrews 12 v 3) Let us pray “Since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken...” (Hebrews 12 v 28) Let us pray for to become a citizen of God’s kingdom on earth is to have received “... grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. My soul thirsts for You; my whole body longs for You in this parched and weary land where there is no water.” (Psalm 63 v 1 NLT) Let us pray because in turning to the Lord Jesus, by means of the Holy Spirit, “I have seen You in the sanctuary and gazed upon Your power and glory.” (Psalm 63 v 2 NLT) Let us pray because “Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise You. I will praise You as long as I live.” (Psalm 63 v 3, 4) through Christ Jesus Your beloved Son, the firstborn from the dead. Let us pray as “By God’s grace, Jesus tasted death for everyone. God, for whom and through whom everything was made, chose to bring many children into glory.” (Hebrews 2 v 9, 10 NLT) Let us pray to “The God of peace who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, and ratified an eternal covenant with His blood...” (Hebrews 13 v 20 NLT) Let us pray that He will “Equip us with all we need for doing His will.” (based on Hebrews 13 v 21 NLT) Let us pray confidently, expectantly, joyfully knowing “He will produce in us, through the power of Christ Jesus” another blessed working of the Holy Spirit, “Every good thing that is pleasing to Him.” (based On Hebrews 13 v 21 NLT) Let us pray that “All glory (be) to Him forever and ever!” (Cont) for we praise the Holy Trinity, the Father and the Spirit made known to us through Christ Jesus. Amen. 07.02.21 Sue O’Donnell

“In God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength and my refuge is in God.” (Psalm 62 v 7) This is our truth when we live in the Spirit, That very blessed Spirit, the Lord Jesus sends to us. The Spirit places holy love within our hearts. This love encourages us to seek to become prayerfully, More like the divine, fine image of the Lord Jesus. The Spirit teaches and reaches us sacramentally, But essentially through the Holy Eucharist. Holy love meets us in our weaknesses, our sinfulness, To feed, restore, replenish and nourish us, That we be faithfully committed and true, True to our faith in the Holy Trinity. “And the God of peace will crush satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.” (Romans 16 v 20) God is the One in Three in whom we hope. We place our trust in the redemption Jesus won for us. We hope too, in the Sacramental Mystery of His banqueting table. We are fed on holy bread and find sanctity, purity In the holy blood poured out for us at the †, now in a chalice. The malice of the enemy is driven out before us, Because we belong to the Saviour, the Lord Jesus. Father of mercy, You protect us in Your Son, by Your Spirit. We remember, re-call this in the Holy Eucharist. We know of such mercy through the re-presentation of the †. “Give us this day our daily bread – the bread of Your body, the necessary bread to the poor at home and the poor across the world; the bread of truth to this disturbed generation.” (The Global Our Father) The bread of truth is the Lord Jesus come to us. In sharing in His holy body and blood is our healing, The healing love of merciful forgiveness. Our sins are being obliterated by mercy, The purity of the holy blood poured out for us at the †of Calvary. The offering the Lord Jesus makes to us as a blessing, Becomes the very offering we make back as we worship. The full purpose of the †is re-lived in the Holy Eucharist. In the daily Mass we remember, we re-call all Jesus did for us. He now offers us the perfection of His holy body and blood, To be the connection as we turn to the Lord God, our Father. “For You have always been my help; in the shadow of Your wings I rejoice; my heart clings to You, Your right hand supports me.” (Psalm 63 v 7, 8 TNJB) What grace is in His fondest embrace of holy love, Sent directly from heaven above to be our faith’s replenishment. The Lord Jesus’ commitment to us is continuous, We are invited to trust and believe as we receive the reality of His holy love, That perfect love which the Spirit placed within Jesus As He divested Himself of divinity to take on our humanity. The Lord Jesus is sharing His whole self with us, What a graced honour, the highest, richest, fullest privilege. And all totally freely given, an offering from heaven. The reality of holy love is Jesus brought alive once more To live amongst us by living in us to share His holiness. “Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in abundance. Incline your ear and come to Me, hear, and Your soul shall live.” (Isaiah 55 v 2, 3) The Sacred Heart of Jesus is gifted us In the Sacramental Mystery of the Holy Eucharist, In our Saviour’s death by crucifixion taking on our punishment, And His resurrection by holy love, stronger by far than death. The end of our life becomes a new beginning Whereby we gain entry to the joy of eternity. The Eucharistic feast is a taste of the promise of later life, A life fulfilled in, through and by our company with Jesus. It is the Lord Jesus’ holiness which redeems us. The bread which comes down from heaven Is the living bread of Christ Jesus, dying and rising, that we live forever. “If You kept a record of our sins, Lord, who could stand their ground? But with You is forgiveness, that You may be revered.” (Psalm 130 v 3, 4 TNJB) “...He has destroyed death for ever. Lord Yaweh has wiped away the tears from every cheek; He has taken His people’s shame away everywhere on earth, for Yaweh has spoken.” (Isaiah 25 v 8 TNJB) “On this mountain, for all peoples, Yaweh Sabaoth is preparing a banquet of rich food, a banquet of fine wines, of succulent food, of well-strained wines.” (Isaiah 25 v 6 TNJB) This is action we remember, we re-call as we celebrate the Holy Eucharist. “And on that day, it will be said ‘Look, this is our God, in Him we put our hope that He should save us, this is Yaweh, we put our hope in Him.” (Isaiah 25 v 9 TNJB) This is the Saviour of the entire world, the Lord Jesus coming to us as a sacramental Mystery, hidden under the form of consecrated bread and wine. “Let us exult and rejoice since He has saved us.” (Isaiah 25 v 9 TNJB) We should always be rejoicing, keeping praying with thanksgiving. For “The path of the Upright One is honesty; You smooth the honest way of the upright,” (Isaiah 26 v 7 TNJB) doing this through our right standing gained by belief in Jesus as our Saviour. “Following the path of Your judgments, Yaweh, we set our hopes in You, Your name, Your memory are all our soul desires,” (Isaiah 26 v 9 TNJB) for we know we find love and mercy offered us in the life, death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus. “For when Your judgments appear on earth, the inhabitants of the world learn what saving justice is,” (Isaiah 26 v 9 TNJB) our discovery made in the holy love of Jesus we are so blessed to receive. Father, You grant us the peace the world cannot give, which is the experience of being restored to Your all loving mercy at the †of Calvary and in each and every celebration of the Mass. We are a truly privileged people, thank You. Keep us ever praying in all thanksgiving for the gift of being set at liberty from sin, blessed by the holiness of the Lord Jesus freely gifted us. We do need to both ask and offer thanks. You prepare the richest feast imaginable, a foretaste of the heavenly banquet that awaits us. You do this in a recognisable way as holy love is manifest in Jesus. May we never turn our back on this honour, nor take it for granted. The rich feast of Your love and mercy as offered in Your Son and made real to us by the Holy Spirit, is fullness of life indeed to us, our true happiness as we come to appreciate the power of merciful love which has saved us. You fulfil our needs lavishly, most generously, the bountiful supply of Your mercy never running out, nor in short supply. “Oh, that My people would listen to Me...would walk in My ways!” (Psalm 81 v 13) an echo is heard and this matters. It matters because You say “ I would soon subdue their enemies and turn My hand against their adversaries. The haters of the LORD would pretend submission to Him...” (Psalm 81 v 14, 15) This reminds me of the Lord Jesus commenting that not everyone who calls Him ‘Lord’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, not unless we do this in prayer, a sincerity acted out in daily life of submission, obedience and reverence. It is when we call upon the Holy Spirit, resolved to live in and through Your love and mercy dearest Father, as shown us by the way of life the Lord Jesus asks us to live by, then You “Would have fed us also with the finest of wheat.” (based on Psalm 81 v 16) It is the love and the life of the Lord Jesus, active within us by the Holy Spirit, which purifies, sanctifies and consecrates our life to Christian service, nourishes us with love, replenishing us with mercy. You feed us with the Bread of Life, the pledge of our eternity, that we receive the Holy Eucharist gift of bread and wine to live in the Spirit of self-giving love. Please keep us praying to this end. Amen. 11.10.20 Sue O’Donnell

“Praise the LORD! Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty firmament.” (Psalm 150 v 1) Admiration, Adoration, Veneration, I give, my Lord, As You afford me, Oh so joyously A glimpse of You As a Trinity, The Trinity of glory. And compassionately You involve us Especially at the †, In dearest Father of mercy, The life which is exemplary. “Praise Him for His mighty acts.” (Psalm 150 v 2) The Lord Jesus lived to die for us, Upon the † of forgiveness, If this is not love, I do not know what is. Because this is the greatest mystery Of the long history of humanity, You send the Spirit of holiness To introduce us to the Lord Jesus, And through this to meet with Yourself. What a wealth of experience. You Father us, all lovingly All for the purpose of a love which is holy. “Praise Him according to His excellent greatness.” (Psalm 150 v 2) A love which is not to be worldly in response, But to teach us to love in a way most holy. You place, through the friendship with Jesus, Plus the insistent work of the Holy Spirit, A happy song on our mind, for we belong to You, Whilst through the life changing Spirit, We inherit a share in the love of Jesus, Gifting us love in our heart. We thus do start on a journey, Whereby we travel from the entirely secular world, That of seeming self-sufficiency, seeking our own satisfaction, To the attraction of life within the Trinity. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1 v 7) Dearest Father, You love us back into wholeness. You gift us Your Son as Redeemer, For this very special, sanctified purpose. Lord Jesus, You are our dear Friend and Brother, But also, our Saviour, Christ the King. Holy Spirit Lord, we cannot afford to live without You, For You are the Faith Builder and Sustainer. Oh, the multitude of blessings upon us! As a Trinity, You love and care for us, Having the best plans possible for our destiny. Love, compassion and mercy are Your identity. “Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.” (Psalm 150 v 6) “Praise the LORD!” (Psalm 150 v 6) Ever I would praise You, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, for You make our holiness a possibility, as You shelter us beneath the Lord Jesus’ holy arms outstretched on the †. Together You are our Defender and Deliverer from all that is evil. Loving us completely, even in spite of our waywardness, You restore us to grace and favour. Working as One, You are our Saviour, the Redeemer and Sanctifier. “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for You who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds,” (Hebrews 10 v 23, 24 NIV) in response to the love given to us. Thank You for that love which called us into being. “For You created our inmost being; You knit us together in our mother’s womb. I praise You because we are fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” (based on Psalm 139 v 13, 14 NIV) Thank You for our creation and re-creation, for when we defied Your precepts and principles given for our own sake, when we were then broken in our relationship with You, being a Trinity of love and mercy, You reached out at the † to save us. Fortunately once we become believers in the Lord Jesus, our Divine Healer and Saviour, we “Can never escape from Your Spirit” (Psalm 139 v 7 NLT) nor would we want to. Always within the circle of Your love, Almighty Trinity “Your hand will guide us and Your support will strengthen us.” (based on v 10) How fully blessed we are to know You care for us so totally “The flock for which You provide,” (based on Psalm 95 v 7 GNT) as You choose to shepherd us, keeping us safe from the enemy, although in no way at all do we deserve this. “When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars which You have ordained, what is man that You are mindful of him and the Son of man that You visit him?” (Psalm 8 v 3, 4) The answer is, we are Your chosen people, Your “Own special people that we may proclaim the praises of You who has called us out of darkness into Your marvellous light.” (based on 1 Peter 1 v 9) This is the light of love You shed upon us through the life, death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus, He who is the Prince of Peace and King of Glory, the Conqueror over satan and all his deceptive ways. Thank You that Jesus shows us the way to live. “Blessed be Jesus Christ, the God and the Man.” (From the Divine Praises) Blessed be His life in us as drawn up by the Spirit who always encourages us to live at all times, loving You as a Trinity because You first loved us, showing this love by loving respect for each other. Brought to a life of faith by the Holy Spirit, we offer our love back to You, dearest Father, doing this by praying to be united with the Sacred Heart of Jesus and all His infinite merits, the riches of grace, offering our life to be of service to You, hoping to help consecrate the world to You. What favour we find living in the One who Father God, You promised “Will be great and will be called the Son of the Highest...and of His kingdom there will be no end.” (Luke 1 v 32, 33). How privileged we have become! “Who may stand in Your holy place? Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies. They will receive Your blessing and have a right relationship with You, Lord God, our Saviour.” (based on Psalm 24 v 3, 4, 5 NLT) Holy Trinity, lovingly You care for us, profoundly You bless us, mercifully You protect us. You “Have done many things and You have planned marvellous things for us. No one is like You! I would never be able to tell all You have done,” (Psalm 40 v 5 CEV) but I long to praise You! I know Your goodness and love will be with us all our life here and eternally in heaven. Please continue to watch over us to keep us from all harm wherever we are in our coming and going. Lord God, holy Three, I ask that to admiration, adoration and veneration, we add consecration. May we “Enter Your gates with thanksgiving, go into Your courts with praise, giving thanks and praising You. For in Your goodness Your love is eternal and Your faithfulness lasts forever.” (based on Psalm 100 v 4, 5) “O Holy One of Israel, My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing to You, and my soul which You have redeemed. My tongue also shall talk of Your righteousness all the day long” (Psalm 71 v 22, 23, 24) for I know not their limits. You are our rock upon which our faith stands firm, our fortress where we take refuge against the adversary, and our deliverer from all that is wrong in the world. You are our Saviour, so shield us in the stronghold of Your love and mercy. Ever You are worthy of all praise, Your way being perfect, Your word always flawless. Almighty Trinity, it is You “Who arms us with strength and keeps our way secure” (Psalm 18 v 32 NIV) Thank You so much for Your love’s defence. May we ever honour Your holy name for we trust in You. “Your unfailing love, O LORD, is as vast as the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds. Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, Your justice like the ocean depths.” (Psalm 30 v 5, 6 NLT) What more can I say! I admire You, adore You, venerate You, my Lord, my God, the Holy Trinity, the Trinity of glory, LORD God, All Powerful. I rejoice to be made Yours! May my life be consecrated to You. Amen. 22.09.20 Sue O’Donnell

In the meeting place of prayer, God comes silently. This will be the Father seeking, Desiring to be speaking with us. It may be the Lord Jesus, Equally intent upon this. It may be the Spirit of sanctity, Preparing us to receive the Lord Jesus in holiness. Or really, much more likely, It is actually the Trinity speaking. For love in its perfection Leads only in one direction, According to the holy togetherness Of the Three Persons making up the Trinity. The important point is to seek silence, To leave the ever busy world behind, So as to find the delight, the insight, The teaching, the warning, the assistance Of the holy company of the Trinity. Love comes gently, quietly as we with concentration And dedication, wait in the meeting place of silence, Seeking through obedience, a true reverence. Obedience is necessary because the Almighty Asks us to “Be still and know…” (Psalm 46 v 10) He will show us He is God in Three Persons. This communion of hearts and minds is vital to us, An all important highly significant event, As there is an exchange of intentions and ideas. We look for a blessing upon many, any situations prayed for. The Trinity look to inspire us with their own godly purpose. Therefore our meeting in prayer ever will be joyous. That is exactly why Jesus, in the Spirit, comes to us In Him, through Him, together with Him, by the Spirit, Ever the breath of all life, is to be led in holiness. In this, by this, we can be active and effective, industrious and zealous, In our intention to glorify our Father in heaven By extending His kingdom on earth, as set up by Jesus. Praying helps us feel assured all will be well In the end, in God’s time, as He does send His Spirit, Drawing us ever closer to the Lord Jesus in friendship, Impressing upon us the importance of developing a likeness To the perfectly holy Son, the dependable One. Pray earnestly, fervently, daily, For the promise of God to be with us, is a reality, An exciting journey of discovery we find when prayerful. Dearest Father, thank You for our meeting in prayer with the holy Trinity. “Now to You who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us” – that anointing and appointing Holy Spirit of love which is so powerful – “to You be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” ( (based on Ephesians 3 v 20-21) 11.07.20 Sue O’Donnell

We are richly blessed To be entirely possessed by God, The Lord our Father, The Lord our Brother, The Lord our Sanctifier, All Three together forming a Trinity. Mercifully they come to us. We can rely upon this. When we pray, The Lord God is never far away. When we study the sacred Scriptures Any One of the Three. Or maybe as a unity The Lord God will speak with us. When we admire life’s beauty We become aware of God’s majesty. Ask to receive of God’s closeness, Blessing our awareness in this, Giving rise to praise and thanksgiving. Life is ever enriched by prayerfulness. As prayer is a conversation Between two who love each other. What we discover through this, The power of holy love Is undoubtedly fullness of life to us, Just as the Lord Jesus promises. How truly marvellous it is to be touched by the power of Your love, dearest Father. For then we are truly blessed, graced and strengthened. Thank You so much for such a fulfilment. The evidence is there in organisations like the Maranatha Ministry, the Scripture Union Organisation and Derek Prince Ministries, where all they do is based on prayer. The results thereby are very far reaching indeed, a real blessing to so many people including the unchurched. This would not be the case, could not be the case without prayer. Thank You for all their prayerful prayer supporters. Please continue to let the blessings flow. Amen. 05.06.20 Sue O’Donnell
