“Faith, hope and love, the three of them; and the greatest of them is love.” 1 Corinthians 13 v 13
“Faith, hope and love, the three of them; and the greatest of them is love.” 1 Corinthians 13 v 13
Our power to bless comes
From the grace of Christ and His victory on the †.
As we accept His loving embrace
Loss of self, emptying out
So Christ can move in
To work for good, our good then always becoming better in Him.
So what should we do to help?
Be obedient to Christ in all things.
Bring everything to our Lord for reference.
Work hard to lose our pride and self will.
Accept any chide the Holy Spirit does instil
And repentantly grow because of this.
Grow in faith, stature and understanding
Especially when we learn to live
By commanding the word of God to work in us.
Work with us, work for us, work through us.
True heartfelt repentance where we are now
Fully reconciled with God, changes us from within
Reconciliation rearranges our weaknesses into strengths,
Because we have worked through Christ’s promise:
“My grace is enough for you:
2 Corinthians 12 v 9 For power is at full stretch in weakness.”
Such is the magnitude of Christ’s love.
The power of His blessings,
The victorious, sound hope He brings,
Even our defeats, or perhaps especially our defeats,
Become Christ’s very own blessings.
A God given power to take out into the world.
A noble, effective force of love unfurled through grace,
For most surely our sinful self does not merit, can never merit,
The incredible force of God’s all powerful unconditional love.
All that we inherit through grace and Christ’s victory on the †.
Let’s make the best use we can of His gift
To lift mankind’s expectations into hope, joyful hope.
“And the work of righteousness shall be peace.” Isaiah 32 v 17
Father we can never sufficiently thank You for the gift of Your Beloved Son. His victory over
sin upon the †, becomes our victory over ourselves. Christ’s loving grace grants to us – by the
power of the Holy Spirit our Sanctifier – wisdom and fortitude. Anoint our hearts and minds to
remain open to Your truth, that seeing the error of our worldly ways, through love we are
reconciled to You and each other. Constantly renew our minds through Your living Word, that we
may ever know Your truth, stand by it and act upon it to serve You faithfully. This we ask in
Jesus’ name. Amen.
