“I know about your behaviour: how you are reputed to be alive and yet are dead. Wake up; put some
resolve into what little vigour you have left; it is dying fast. So far I have failed to notice anything in your
behaviour that my God could possibly call perfect; remember how you first heard the message. Hold on
to that. Repent!” Revelation 3 v 1-3

Dead, led, fed
On a diet of tripe.
Dirt hurts, skirts
About me like mist
Wallowing, swallowing, following
Wherever I go.
Perversive, subversive, coercive
Sights, might fight
My troubled conscience.
Groaning, moaning, homing
In on my emotions.
Aching, taking, making
Me over to despondency.
Despair where rare
Should be the occasion
Of such suffering, offering, proffering
To eat me up.
Deflate, weight, hate
Upon my all.
Whole soul rolls
Backward and forwards.
So to fro I go
In my imagination.
Mind behind rewinds
The ghastly scenario.
Complete deceit replete
