“All the days of my appointed time will I wait, until my change comes.” Job 14 v 14

And yet, Lord, I feel impatient,
so impatient to be near to You.
Psalm 42 v 2 “My soul thirsts for God.”
Come, Lord, appear to me,
in a way that is real.
Sometimes I feel a distance between us
and I cannot tell where You are.
Dwell in my heart more and more, Lord,
for You are absolutely central to my being.
Without seeing You at work in me,
with me, through me, for me, I am empty.

It is said “Be joyful always’
Pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances,
1 Thessalonians 5 v 15-18 for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
Joy comes from knowing and trusting You fully,
and for me, that means being near, feeling near
very near, indeed to You.
Otherwise, how on earth else can I be joyful?
I know feelings are not always a true reflection,
recommendation or even a trusty barometer.
But Lord, I long to feel Your nearness.
I need to feel Your closeness.
For it is as pure inspiration to me!

You set me free from myself, my own preoccupations,
to put aside time and effort for dedication to You.
True veneration of You is so vital, Lord.
It is even easier to pray when I feel close to You,
believing You send Your Spirit to show me
guide me, help me, let me know what and who to pray for.
Prayer is a matter of mind and heart at work.
Prayer is where we share so much, so very much together,
Whatever, is on both our hearts and in our thoughts. * 1i,ii,iii,iv,
Yet still it is easier to be caught up in prayer
when I feel I share Your very closeness to me, Lord.
