The Blessings Of His Heaven
Sue O'Donnell

“How silently, how silently, the wondrous gift is given! So God imparts to human hearts the
blessings of His heaven. No ear may hear His coming; but in this world of sin, where meek souls will
receive Him, still the dear Christ enters in.” Philip Brookes 1835-93

“How silently, how silently, the wondrous gift is given! So God imparts to human hearts the

Rejoice!
Give voice to this day.
Display your joy in the Lord.
Afford Him the glory.
His Christmas story is real
To appeal to your understanding,
Commanding honour with thanksgiving.

“Sing a new song to the Lord for He has worked wonders. His right hand and His holy arm have brought
salvation.” Psalm 97 v 1
Exalt!
Exclaim, name all God has done
For you in His baby Son,
Love given birth, sent to earth.
Human life is changed, re-arranged
By His coming amongst us
As one of us living here.

“O holy child of Bethlehem, descend to us we pray; cast out our sin and enter in, be born in us
today. We hear the Christmas angels the great glad tidings tell. O come to us, abide with us, Our
Lord Emmanuel.” Philip Brookes, hymn cont.
Praise!
Amaze at God’s understanding benevolence.
He knew just what we need.
Love shaped in recognisable form
That we could respond and reply to.
Immanuel – God is with us in His righteousness –
This is the hub of our faith’s offering.
