“The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” John 1 v 14
“The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” John 1 v 14
Lord, from the generosity of Your own free will
You chose to come amongst us to show,
let us know the power of our Father’s love.
A love both unconditional and unconventional
in being prepared to give absolutely everything to us.
I think of all that Your love did bring
to show us the truth of God and His Spirit.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son.” John 3 v 16
You, Lord, in perfect trust, were the thrust of holy love.
You showed complete compassion and kindness.
Your way was always wise and understandingly tolerant.
Yet you did not compromise the cause of justice,
nor allow anything other than peace to reign
in Your incredible heart of extreme love.
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the
old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21 v 4
A love that protected, uplifted, encouraged and assisted,
a love that guided, supported, strengthened and persuaded,
a love that was and a love that still is Your way of life overcoming strife.
Your love knows no boundaries nor limits,
generously allowing for our mistakes and shortcomings
for well You understand the trials and temptations we face.
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am Your God. I will strengthen you and help
you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41 v 10
Yours Lord, is a confident love, expecting the best,
Knowing the miraculous working of Your Holy Spirit.
Never despairing nor doubting the power of love,
You never, ever give up on us, thank God!
A love that is selfless, sound and secure.
A love that is exciting, energising and effective.
“For I am certain of this …. nothing….will be able to come between us and the love of God, known to us in
Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8 v 37
