“ ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name’.” Matthew 6 v 9
List the blessings of God’s kingdom,
His touch of heaven upon earth,
Achieved, accomplished through Jesus.
Mercy tops the list,
Our need of forgiveness so urgent.
Pardon is dire necessity,
We live so unworthily.
Honour, glory, might, mercy, are the godly ways
Of the most holy Trinity of mercy,
In all heavenly, holy authority.
“ ‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one’.” Matthew 6 v 13
Authority whereby mercy comes from the Lord Most High,
Given to us in Jesus, out of love.
God watches over us compassionately.
His reign is one of mercy,
For the enemy is banished, thankfully,
Once we take truth as our guide.
Jesus in His holiness has freed us.
Justice has been completed at the †,
Where we find forgiveness for all our sinfulness.
We embrace the loving kindness of mercy.
“ ‘For Yours is The kingdom, and the power and the glory forever’.” Matthew 6 v 13
Through the righteous holiness of Jesus, love’s fulfilment,
Mercy looks to complete its work through Christ Jesus in the Spirit.
Horrible, terrible acts of hatred, anger, jealousy, enmity,
Must be undone, overcome by merciful kindness,
The work of the most blessed Trinity.
The Father, so kindly and generous,
The Son, full, full of goodness,
The Spirit, mysterious yet effective in holiness,
Is making God’s kingdom evident to us, built amongst us.

“ ‘And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors’.” Matthew 6 v 12
