The evening silence,
The hushed stillness
After the busyness of the day,
Another quality time
Set aside to pray.
This time is delightful Lord,
Insightful too,
As I turn to converse with You.
I sense Your closeness
In the quietness,
Enabling me to be at peace.
For to know You are near
Is to disperse some of my fear.
How helpful it is to pray, Lord,
At the close of the day.
I can hand over to Your authority
And do so gladly,
Knowing You never ever fail me.
I trust my concerns to You
And yearn for an ever deeper friendship.
Lord, You are my worship.
Adoration with veneration is my top priority.
Almighty Trinity, how good it is
To be with You quietly, contemplatively.
You may teach me something new,
You may not.
But what a golden opportunity
To get ready for tomorrow,
Another day to pray and say
