“How precious is Your loving kindness, O God! Psalm 36 v 7

Graced by the glory of God,
we embrace this new day,
fresh month of time wide awakening.
An opening opportunity to ask and receive,
to give of God’s goodness and generosity.
Look around, wide eyed, openhearted
and see His beauty surrounding
abounding freely in Your life.

Give thanks and praise to amaze
at each and everything God has done for you,
all the quagmires He’s pulled you through!
He was with you all the time,
even when you were not with Him.
Begin to appreciate the fullness
of His incredible, progressive love.

God’s love breaking through our stone deafness,
illuminating our uncomprehending blindness
to let us see His almighty truth.
The saving grace of God’s unconditional,
all powerful, enhancing love at work.
Hunger and thirst for God.
Taste and see that He is good.

“Kindness unfailing and constancy
mark all God’s paths,
for those who keep
His covenants and His decrees.” Psalm 25 v 10

Realise, appreciate how God in His almighty mercy
has pulled you through times of sterility.
He walked the barren desert
closer to Your side than your shadow.
God’s love wins through the maze,
the daily mass of confusion
to renew our sense of perspective
and enhance our reasoned understanding.

“May Your unfailing love
rest upon us, O Lord,
even as we put our hope in You.” Psalm 33 v 22
God is the One who fulfils

the aching emptiness of our longing.
Breathing new energised life
by the power of His Holy Spirit
working within us and with us,
patiently, gently, with loving long suffering.

The Holy Spirit it is who builds in strength
the capacity we have for Christ.
To love Christ, to live for Christ,
to hold onto Him and keep Him.
Until eventually, by God’s miracle of love,
our life revolves only around
our most precious Lord and Saviour.

“O Love, most powerful God: strengthen me by Your love.
O Love, most wise: let me love You wisely.
O Love, most sweet: let me taste You sweetly.
O Love, most dear: let me live for You alone.
O Love, most faithful: comfort and support me in every trouble.
O Love, most companionable: be the doer of all my deeds.
O Love, most victorious: let me persevere with You to the end.”
St Gertrude the Great, meditating on arousing the love of God.

The Lord Jesus who takes us deep
and ever deeper into the love
of His own divine heart,
giving us the abundant grace
to live in Him, to live for Him,
for love of God our Father,
through love of God our longing.

That blessed place where we so belong
God’s peace infuses our pain,
Christ’s love diffuses our suffering,
The Spirit’s effort enthuses our life.
We become focused fully
upon love’s abundance for love of Christ.

Renewed, replenished, invigorated,
awakened afresh, excitedly aware
of every memory of God’s faithfulness.
Such love that will not let us go!
We stand transformed by Christ
into the very glory God recognises and desires.

“Let the kindness of the Lord our God be with us. Make us successful in everything we do. Yes,
make us successful in everything we do.” Psalm 90 v 17

Father we want to be successful in the self giving of understanding love. We can only do
this through the merits of our Lord Jesus Christ the heart of love, by the power of the
Holy Spirit at work within us. Holy Trinity of life, bring us vibrantly alive to love like You,
unconditionally, freely, continually and generously. This we ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.
