“I call to You, Lord; help me now! Listen to me when I call to You.” Psalm 141 v 1

“Remind me each morning of Your constant love,” * 1Lord
For very many are the steps of faith I must take daily,
And sometimes I feel so overshadowed by my own circumstances.
But then, I glance Your way and I hear You say
“Stand firm” * 2 and I know I have to go on.
In You, with You, through You, for it is only in You
I can achieve anything worthwhile at all.

“You say ‘Never will I leave you. Never will I forget you’.” Hebrews 13 v 5

Your smile of reassurance is what I need, Lord.
And Your close comfort alongside, supporting, encouraging me.
Telling me not to fear for I can do all things,
Yes, all things, through You who strengthens me. * 3
I simply have to step out in the confidence of faith
To release Your sustaining power at work.

“Hope in God! I will praise Him still, My Saviour, my God.” Psalm 42 v 5

But it seems, I do have to make the first faith move.
“Receive my prayers as incense”, * 4 Lord.
My thought lines of faith, my feelings of trust,
Which must travel between us, for I can see
How You in me, makes all the difference in the world.
For I am allowed the privilege of being me in You,
Who holds all manner of things in Your constant love,
That Your healing help will pull me through.

“So I say with confidence ‘The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid’.” Hebrews 13 v 6

Through to a clearer understanding, a deeper faith,
And that Lord, is really what I seek of You.
Build me up through challenging circumstances
So I become mature and holy in my faith.
Then others can see how You set me free.

“Jesus answered …’The Father is with Me. I’ve told you all this so that trusting Me, you
will be unshakeable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue
to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world’.” John 16 v 31-33

“I keep trusting in You, my Sovereign Lord, I seek Your protection.” * 5 St Julian of
Norwich said “The best prayer is to rest in the goodness of God, knowing that the
goodness can reach right down to our lowest depths of need.” I thank You Lord, for this
wonderful promise which means I will achieve deep peace in Your love which sets me
free. And in the meantime, by Your Spirit, keep me cheerful, one day at a time,
patiently expectant as I step out in faith. I am so glad and grateful to be with You,
Lord. May we never be apart. Amen.
