“Your plans for us are too numerous to list.” Psalm 40 v 5

I know how You want me to be today, Lord.
As open hearted, loving and generously kind
with my time and effort as You always were.
But where do You want me to be?
Who do You want me to see so that You are manifest?
Your plan is always the best, keep me receptive
attentive to Your Holy Spirit’s guidance and direction.
He is the connection between us, telling me
how to serve, what acts of loving kindness to perform
and when asked, He even will form the words I’m to say.

“We are well aware that God works with those who love Him, those who have been called in
accordance with His purpose, and turns everything to their good.” Romans 8 v 28

Be with me today, Lord, in Your very special way
of inspiration for this becomes my dedication of effort
where I will try to put the needs of others before my own. * 1
No day is ‘just another day’, for each day is a precious gift
to enable us to lift ourselves and others up closer to You.
Open my eyes wide to see You at work in me.
Alert my ears to every sound of Your gentle voice.
Concentrate my feelings to be acutely aware of You,
For it is when I dare to see You working in me,
I come to understand that my life is truly valuable. * 2
I thank You for this honour, Lord, it is my delight.

“Blessed is the (wo)man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him.” Jeremiah 17 v 7

May my every insight be God given, that today
and every day I serve You to the best of my ability,
allowing You to take hold of the ordinary events in life
to turn them into extraordinary encounters with God,
dwelling where His unchanging love is working.
You promise “The Lord shall guide you continually.” * 3
Lead me on step by step in Your holiness, Lord.
For where You are all love and pure loveliness dwell.
Help me this day to make a real difference to someone.
The one You mention to place upon my heart of intention.
Only You are the lasting effectiveness of all I do and say, Lord.
Afford me a share in Your work and I will do my utmost,
my very best to serve You in love, with Your blessed companionship,

so Your love lives on in the hearts of those I meet and greet, to our good
and Your glory.
