Life is a process,
One day preparing for the next.
The only sufficient preparation for tomorrow
Is the use we make of time today,
So pray!
Pray about all you are preparing for.
Pray about how to undertake this.
Pray, inviting the Spirit of Jesus,
To be in you, to aid you,
To guide you, to guard you,
To inspect you, to correct you.
Work zealously, jealously even at this,
For much indeed depends upon it.
The development of holiness is a process.
Our friendship with Jesus is a process.
Learning that we need the Spirit is a process.
Realising we must heed the Spirit is a process.
Goodness does not develop overnight
But involves a fierce fight,
A battle undertaken against satan
And the horrible loud clamour of self interest.
Not forgetting the world in all its falsity.
Our ability tomorrow depends upon today.
Pray, asking of the Father of mercy.
Pray, clarifying our new identity.
Pray, calling out to Jesus.
Pray, looking to the Spirit to aid us.
We have to obey the call to holiness.
To meet with Jesus we have to access Jesus.
He offers peace and goodwill.
So now we prepare for Christmas.
Advent is for a time such as this.
Preparatory, we journey on in faith.
