Full living God’s giving
If we are praying, searching,
Our restlessness and carelessness disappear.
Contentment meant, it is heaven sent.
Truth illumines us through Jesus,
Who will send His Spirit to us.
So why Advent now?
How we can make ready,
Steady feeble hearts, weak minds
To find a Brother who will be
For everybody wishing, for this a Saviour.
Darkness is chased away by Jesus,
Coming to us in Person, God’s decision.
Without these benefits we all too easily go astray,
Wander far away from heaven,
Lost at what high cost,
Both to true happiness now
And even more seriously, heaven’s eternity.
So our Father in all wisdom,
Always with best reason,
Makes Advent a time for inclusion
Prior to the Christmas celebration.
We must fill with the Spirit, reaching us,
Teaching us to look forward in earnest
To be drinking from the living fountain,
Which the Lord Jesus will offer us,
If we are serious about seeking and finding Him
So as to be living righteously.
Pray, searching, allowing the Spirit to have His say.
Live no longer corruptly, but in the company
Of the heavenly, holy Trinity, our destiny.
Advent is about identity, Jesus and us, Him with us.
This is what will make Christmas.
We come back to life when the Spirit instructs us
