“Do not neglect the gift that is in you...Meditate on these things, give yourselves entirely to them, that

Lord, make us prayerful, reflective
That we be thoughtful, careful.
So we live “...circumspectly, not as fools
Ephesians 5 v 15 But wise” under the influence of the Spirit.
We require much silence to achieve this,
Thinking about the implications of our actions,
Attempting to live no longer in a worldly way.
v 16 “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”
“Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” Ephesians 5 v 17
v 18 We need please to “Be filled with the Spirit”
In whom we inherit the desire to stop,
To be still before You, asking for a fill
Of Godly wisdom, help, support and guidance.
For then we can access the gift that is within us,
The kingdom built upon the love of Jesus.
Jesus our Teacher, our Mentor, our Saviour.
Jesus our Redeemer, Restorer, the Word of life inspiring us.
“Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your
hearts to the Lord...” Ephesians 5 v 19
“...giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
submitting to one another in the fear of God.” Ephesians 5 v 20, 21
Lord, we need this set apart time for the wide aspects of prayer, adoration, praise and
thanksgiving.
Psalm 3 v 3 For “You, O LORD, are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts up my head,” in
faith’s hope, blessed by Jesus, made real to us by the Spirit.
Your eternal faithfulness is to be thought upon, for then “I will extol You, my God, O King;
Psalm 145 v 1 and will bless Your name forever and ever.”
I am grateful for the joyous times of prayer. “Every day I will bless You” bow before You,
Psalm 42 v 11 “The help of my countenance and my God.”
As we pray “Send our Your light and Your truth. Let them lead us. Let them bring us to
Psalm 43 v 3 Your holy hill and to Your tabernacle.”
Especially I would pray through approaching the tabernacle which houses the Eucharist, the
most precious body of the Lord Jesus.
Ever may His blood shed for us at the † be cause for wonder and admiration expressed in prayer
of praise and thanksgiving.
“Many, O LORD my God, are Your wonderful works which You have done and Your
thoughts toward us cannot be recounted to You in order; if I would declare and speak of
Psalm 40 v 5 them, they are more than can be numbered.”
But I would like to attempt this so need time, ample time for reflective prayer, seeking to be
encouraged as I think about how inspiring and awesome You are.
Also we stand in continuous need of help and guidance. “Take heed to yourself and to the
1 Timothy 1 v 16 doctrine,” that we be “...an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit,
1 Timothy 1 v 12 in faith, in purity.” Yes, prayer helps us immeasurably. Thank You for this means of
communication. Let us ever access Your will and purpose Father, in Jesus, by the Spirit. Amen.
