Surrender!
Surrender openly,
Ready to express everything,
Anything on heart and mind.
For we will surely find
God waiting for us,
Ready to receive us
In the Lord Jesus
By the work of the Spirit.
God wants to be gracious to us
But will not come to us uninvited.
So how vitally essential it is
To carve out a quiet place
A sacred space, to come before Him
Uninterruptedly, trustingly, openly,
Without pretence or shame or blame.
“You, O LORD, are a shield for me. My glory and the One who lifts up my head.” Psalm 3 v 3
Oh to realise God knows everything about me anyway!
When the Lord Jesus does say
“ ‘The Helper, the Holy Spirit
John 14 v 26 Whom the Father will send in My name”
The One to spell out all truth to us
About life and ourselves – He promises
Cont. “ ‘He will tell you all things”
John 14 v 17 Being “The Spirit of truth.”
It is not without significance
That the promise of the Holy Spirit
Is immediately followed by the guidance and providence,
“ ‘Peace I leave with you.
My peace I give to you;
Not as the world gives
Do I give to you.
Let not your heart be troubled,
John 14 v 27 Neither let it be afraid’.”
“I cried to the LORD with my voice and He heard me…’.” Psalm 3 v 4
Called to live in God’s truth,
No longer locked in by negativity,
The truth which sets us free
Is to grasp the reality
That we are cherished children of God,
