November Trees
Sue O'Donnell

Increasingly November trees boast only minimal leaves.
But what a glorious display of stunning colour, sun lit.
The scene is like a theatre show where the finale
Is the best, supreme, a dream of splendour,
That we will long remember and delight in.
So the colours on show are vividly radiant
In shocking pink, tanned spicy orange, richest russet, mellow yellow, vibrant
gold, ruby red,
And the spice of the paprika, cinnamon and mustard shades, Gods made.
Fold upon fold fluttering to the ground

Increasingly November trees boast only minimal leaves.
But what a glorious display of stunning colour, sun lit.
The scene is like a theatre show where the finale
Is the best, supreme, a dream of splendour,
That we will long remember and delight in.
So the colours on show are vividly radiant
In shocking pink, tanned spicy orange, richest russet, mellow yellow, vibrant
gold, ruby red,
And the spice of the paprika, cinnamon and mustard shades, Gods made.
Fold upon fold fluttering to the ground
As the November trees discard their leaves,
To keep mound upon mound of rich shades.
A colour crescendo brought about by buffeting breeze,
Not in any way manmade, for this is impossible.
The November trees therefore, must bring glory to God,
His almighty hand in command, so accomplished.
It would seem that our Creator Father,
Does not want the delights of autumn colour to be missed.
So He prolongs this for as long as possible
Able to delight us in a most spectacular way,
Until November has had her day in finest display,
And a final say to glorious ground cover.
This will be missed, but what comes next?
Make way for sparkling frost, another wonder,
Not to be lost upon us in its glittering glory.
Our Father writes the story of life around us
In beautiful colours to surround us month by month.
Let us then offer all thanks and praise now,
The beauty of November trees is surely sufficient
To bring us to our knees in wonder.
For the month has enjoyed a truly vibrant treasure,
Something of the measure of God’s love for us.
Lord, thank You for November trees and the brilliance of the leaves. They are truly breathtaking making life all
around us special. Amen.
