“I wait eagerly for the Lord’s help, and in His word I trust.” Psalm 130 v 6

Make my words more than words, Lord.
Empower them by Your Spirit,
That those who read the words
- Which I know are Yours in the first place –
Embrace the truth You are to reveal.
Words can conceal so much within.
Begin to unravel Your truth Lord.
Your thoughts, Your feelings, Your hopes.

Help us to understand You more fully.
Dedicated to us in love as You are,
Communicate with us in the best way we know.
Show us how Your words hold meaning.
I know I’m not dreaming when I hear You, Lord.
Your words give holy guidance
To bring us into the real joy of living.

Living in full measure with You,
For without that all is as empty.
Speak to us each day, dear Lord
And may Your Spirit open up our deaf ears
Our closed minds; may He gently soften
Our hardened hearts, ready to receive.
Everyday life is full to overflowing
With the wonder and beauty of Your creation.

A meeting place between divine action
And the frenzy of human activity
Is that still small place of calm
Where we can stop and listen to Your words.
Such is bliss, a kiss of peace,
Much loved and sought after peace.
For in Your presence, we seek
And You speak endearing words of love.

Welcoming, accepting, heart warming love.
You told me our insecurity is due to love unappeased.
But, Lord, when You opened wide Your arms
Upon that †of death which transformed life for us,

You – although abandoned and defenceless – revealed a heart of
pure, undeniable life transforming love.
“Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a
fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons! Look at it! All this
comes from the God who settled the relationship between us and Him, and then called
us to settle our relationships with each other. God put the world square with himself
through the Messiah, giving the world a fresh start by offering forgiveness of sins. God
has given us the task of telling everyone what He is doing. We’re Christ’s
representatives. God uses us to persuade men and women to drop their differences
and enter into God’s work of making things right between them. We’re speaking for
Christ himself now. Become friends with God, He’s already a friend with you. How?
you say. In Christ. God put the wrong on Him who never did anything wrong, so we
could be put right with God.” 2 Corinthians 5 v 17-21
Your very words * brought the power of heaven

Down here upon earth, a movement of sheer love.
A pardon out of love, for the sake of love, offering all a resurrected
life.
Our God evidently, truly alive, active in words spoken in the Spirit of
love.

It has been written :
“Unless the ear catch fire
The God will not be heard.
Unless the tongue catch fire
The God will not be named.” * 2
As You bless us with Your very words,
Words of truth and holiness,
May our words return in praise to You O Lord.

“O God, Thou art life, wisdom, truth,
Bounty and blessedness, the eternal, the only true good!
My God and my Lord, Thou art my hope and my heart’s joy.” * 3
Just as Your ways O Lord, give all of life
Meaning, purpose, shape, cohesion and intensity,
May the creativity of our words bring love.
Love in closest intimacy with You and warmest fellowship with each
other.
Lord, may all of life be possessed by
Your Spirit of love giving words which witness
To the merciful might of Your incredible power of love.

“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight,
O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.” Psalm 19 v 14

“Praise be to Him, who when I call on Him answers me, slow though I am when He
calls me. … Praise be to Him, to whom I confide my needs whensoever I will and He
satisfies me. My Lord I praise Thee, for Thou art of my praise most worthy!” * 4
Amen.

* 1 “When they got to the place called Skull Hill, they crucified Him, along with the
criminals, one of His right, the other on His left. Jesus prayed ‘Father forgive them;
they don’t know what they are doing’.” Luke 23 v 34 “He included everyone in His
death so that everyone could be included in His life, a resurrection life, a far better
life than people ever lived on their own.” 2 Corinthians v 14-15
