“ ‘LORD, GIVE US THIS BREAD ALWAYS’ ”John 6 v 34
“Give us this day our daily bread.” Matthew 6 v 11
The daily bread, Your daily bread,
This Your word of truth, Lord,
Spirit led by, in, true holiness
so we are fully fed and nourished.
Speak to our heart
as well as our head
so Your truth holds meaning
for each of us individually,
personally seeking, searching, asking,
finding our Father in You.
For it is You who promises
“ ‘I am the way,
John 14 v 6 the truth, the life,’ ” the life of God
here in and amongst us.
“ ‘My Father gives you the true bread from heaven... I am the bread of life …I am the living bread which
came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, (s)he will live forever, and the bread that I shall
give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world’.” John 6 v 32, 51
But unless we listen,
Learn and respond to You, Lord,
Life – however much we have
Or whatever we do or achieve –
Life has an aching, empty despondency.
Draw us near.
Let Your Spirit appear.
His anointing is always
our appointing in faith.
And as we journey
Keep us near the centre
where we reach out to touch the Father through You.
