“Christ is all, and is in all.” Colossians 3 v 11
“Christ is all, and is in all.” Colossians 3 v 11
Psalm 65 v 11 “You crown the year with Your goodness”, O Lord,
the blessing of holiness addressing our human condition.
We have permission to rejoice in the birth
of the Saviour of the entire human race,
based on Colossians 1 v 27 “Christ in us the hope of glory,” as we embrace His truth.
“Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised,
Colossians 3 v 11 slave or free,” we are set at liberty to be Your children.
Children of the promise of a better, holier, sounder, rounder future.
Christ was to do everything necessary for our redemption
by the work of His † and now the blessing is upon us.
“Here is a sign for you; you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.”
Luke 2 v 12
Grant us the hope, dedication, veneration, enthusiasm,
commitment, and confident joy of faith’s belief.
May we ever be prayerfully watchful and hopeful, always alert and expectant. Psalm 37
v 34 “Wait for the LORD and keep His way.”
Salvation is offered to us all, but we each and everyone of us,
have to name and claim the redeeming work of the †.
May we quietly but insistently persist in prayer.
St Robert Bellarmine “Prayer enlightens the mind” and heart, always being
the start and if insistent, the blessed and best continuation
of something good for Your kingdom.
“Be Thou my breast plate, my sword for the fight, be Thou my armour, and be Thou my might, be
Thou my soul’s shelter, and Thou my high tower, raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.”
Third verse of Irish hymn c.8th Century, translated Mary Byrne 1881-1931
“We cannot directly fix the eye of our soul upon God who is light,
St Robert Bellarmine without being enlightened by Him,” brightened by hope.
“Let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us,
and establish the work of our hands for us,
Psalm 90 v 17 yes establish the work of our hands,”
that Your kingdom drawn near in Christ our Lord,
will now appear as reality in each and every human life.
Father, You have mercifully set us above our own made strife
by Christ’s reparation of our sin’s separation from You.
“High King of heaven, when battle is done, grant heaven’s joy to me, O bright heaven’s sun, Christ of
my own heart, whatever befall, still be my vision, O Ruler of all.”
