Oh the effect of meeting Jesus!
This experience of best friendship
Truly is joyous for us.

Set aside ample time for prayer
Where you will be consciously together,

shall set you free’.” John 8 v 31, 32
This repentance, seeking truth as to our brokenness, can happen at any time,
But Lent is an earmarked penitential season,
Graced healing being the reason for Lent.
If your life is to be well spent,
Discovering, building, maintaining efficiently, continuously
The best version of who our Father calls you to be,
Then it is necessary to seek the Spirit of Jesus,
So full of power, zeal, energy which is holy.
“Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God, which is in you...” 2 Timothy 1 v 6
The Spirit will lead you into holy communion,
An opening to a blessed, eternal union.
The Spirit will always show us
Life’s glorious purpose in Jesus.
We will be taught to focus on holiness.
This is made possible by receiving from Jesus.
He in His Spirit, will draw us closer to God.
The sacrament of Reconciliation is a profound blessing.
We receive forgiveness, refreshing us through healing.
“...the prayer of the upright is His delight.” Proverbs 15 v 8
Our Father, repealing the past, holding out a future before us,
Is richly blessed by the presence of Jesus.
We become cleansed so as to better be
Immersed in God’s plan for each one of us,
The good, godly outcome of Jesus’ †.
The Spirit will stir us to a new sense of response.
Response to the call to be Jesus’ discipleS,
Showing an eagerness to share our faith with others
Surely we will notice Jesus says to each of us ‘Come’.
“ ‘Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men’.” Mark 1 v 17
“And He called the twelve to Himself, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them power
over unclean spirits.” Mark 6 v 7
Dear Jesus, surely it must be similar for us? You call us into friendship to then send us out to
spread the good news of salvation.
But before we can be effective, we must have to cleanse ourselves. We cannot be delegates
offering Your holy power if sin blocks us.
Please send Your powerful Spirit to aid us in the quest for holiness. We must conduct an
examination of conscience.
Thank You for the faith which allows and encourages us to do this. Our faith must be consistent
and persistent, so we need a daily top up of Your Spirit, Lord.
We are made unacceptable in our Father’s eyes by our sinfulness. Lord Jesus, as we repent
remorsefully, reach out and absolve us of all that is unacceptable.
Let us come repentantly before the throne of mercy, as a regular part of our prayers’ discipline.
Lord, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I am sorry for all that I say, think or do that is offensive to
You.
I ask forgiveness for anything and everything that disappoints, dismays and distresses You. I
look to Jesus on the † of forgiveness.
May I hear Jesus say as He did to a desperate woman who knew she only had to reach out to
*Mark 5 v 28 touch the hem of His garment so as to be healed and comforted.*
Our assurance of healing and salvation is a most precious gift of our Father, coming through
You by means of the effective Spirit.
Boldly, confidently, expectantly we come before our Father’s mercy, knowing “All things are
Mark 9 v 23 possible to him (her) who believes,” according to God’s grace.*
*Ephesians 2 v 8, 9
Therefore I long to hear You say as I repent “ ‘Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in
Mark 5 v 34 peace, and be healed of your affliction’,” sin being a serious affliction.
You desire to perfect us and therefore You gift us the strengthening of Your most precious life
giving, faith building body and blood in holy communion.
Cleansed, healed, restored forgiven, fed in the invaluable celebration of the Eucharist, make us
Lord Jesus, Your fishers of men.
“A disciple’s ear, O Lord, grant me. A disciple’s heart, O Lord, grant me. A disciple’s
Source unknown obedience O Lord, create in me. With a disciple’s love, O Lord, fill me.”
Enable me please, to fulfil life’s glorious purpose our Father sets before me, causing me,
thankfully, to look to You and call upon Your Spirit of love, Lord Jesus.
Lord, hear my prayer, and answer me. Thank You for the grace and favour of an expectant,
hopeful, joyous friendship with You.
For You are our faith’s focus, coming to us as God’s Word and promise of salvation, thereby
enabling us to trust in God and hold on to hope. Thank You.
May we ever be nourished by Jesus as Your living and abiding Word dearest Father, seeking His
presence in the sacraments, especially that of the Eucharist.
Strengthen us as disciples of the Master, never to give up in the face of setbacks, but always to
share our experience of discovering all that is good for us, made possible by Jesus, in the Spirit.
Amen.
