THE GLOBAL OUR FATHER
OUR FATHER WHO ART IN HEAVEN, HALLOWED BE THY NAME – in peoples across the
world, of different race, colour and religion; in families and religious communities, in places of
work, centres of study, hospitals and places of refuge.
THY KINGDOM COME – more and more in the hearts of those who work in Your name; of those
who know You least and those who have no hope.
THY WILL BE DONE ON EARTH – in the hearts of saints and sinners and of those who have an
abundance from which to give to the hungry, the sick, the untaught, the homeless and the
unemployed.
GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD – the bread of Your body; the necessary bread to the
poor at home and the poor across the world; the bread of truth to this disturbed generation.
AND FORGIVE US OUR TRESPASSES – our coldness, our constant failure to reach out to
those who are in need – AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO TRESPASS AGAINST US.
AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION – give us the grace to resist the temptation to
judge; the temptation to count the cost; the temptation to fear failure; the temptation to
selfishness, to a closed mind.
BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL – the evil of injustice, of war and of violence; the evil of failing
in affection, respect and support for those who live and work with us; deliver us from the evil
of turning away from You. Amen. Source unknown.
May I dear Lord, use:
Heart and mind to find You;
Eyes to perceive and receive You;
Ears to listen out and about for You;
Hands and feet to reach out and greet You;
All of my days to praise, honour and serve You.
That I may play my part
Welcoming, ushering in Your kingdom
Here on earth, at this moment in time.
Mine it is, dear Lord
To ever know You more closely, grow nearer.
I invite You in to all of my life
That You may work through me to be
Lord of many lives, our hope and destiny.
Consecrate my time and effort to Your glory.
I long for my story to be Your story, dear Lord,
To declare the constancy of Your powerful love.
“I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly.” John 10 v 10
