Often the everyday gets in my way
when I want to be just with You, Lord.
I know You understand how it is
and I thank You for Your patience.
Lord, it seems to me there is only one answer
to be a solution, the resolution taken,
to make You the Lord of my complete life,
even – or perhaps especially when the strife hits. * 1i,ii
“Plans fail for lack of counsel.” Proverbs 15 v 22
The terminology ‘Lord’ implies You have sovereign power,
which must mean You desire to have domination over me,
The domination of a loving, compassionate, tolerant wisdom.
By inference therefore, I am to hand over to You everything,
my entire life, including all my thinking, my attitude, my timing.
Turning everything over to You, Lord,
is a matter of humility, the ability to let go of pride.
The pride of independent self sufficiency, thinking I know best.
Help me, Lord!
“The Lord corrects and disciplines everyone whom He loves.” Hebrews 12 v 6
My attitude must become one of gratitude for all Your blessing
whatever the situation, however hard I’m finding it.
Help me, Lord!
My understanding * is coming to realise that all time is God given
to use not for me, but to let the world see His glory.
Help me, Lord!
I can improve and develop in all these matters,
only by Your divine grace and intervention,
drawing to my attention all You want me to learn by.
