“Good and upright is the LORD; therefore He teaches sinners in the way. The humble He guides in

“Good and upright is the LORD; therefore He teaches sinners in the way. The humble He guides in

If we are not to suffer a sense of emptiness,
Life seeming somewhat futile, rather empty in so much malpractice,
We need to possess the fullness of Jesus.
Come to Him in the Eucharist to experience this at firsthand.
For Jesus’ command is for us to take of Him, from Him,
To begin to experience a difference in life to live thereto.
For through Jesus, we learn of holiness.
And more importantly, see this as attractive, charismatic,
Therefore a quality well worth having and sharing.
“For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit which are God’s.”
1 Corinthians 6 v 20
Holiness is exactly what our Father desires for us.
He wants us to have this by turning to Jesus.
The Lord God wants us to share this by coming to Jesus,
The Holy Son, through whom salvation is promised.
And mercifully the access is in the Eucharist.
We draw strength from the sacrifice Jesus made at the †,
By sharing in His broken body and poured out blood
Transubstantiated under the form of bread and wine.
A very fine feast indeed.
Listen to what Jesus explains to us as He converses with our Father:
“ ‘O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known
that You sent Me’.” John 17 v 25
“ ‘And I have declared them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may
be in them, and I in them’.” John 17 v 26
Lord Jesus, in the Eucharist You gift us Your body and blood so we are united with You in all
holiness. Thank You for this invaluable offering, for it is truly life changing.
As we are being made into Your body, this is Your loving body in this earthly kingdom. You have
made us church in communion with You.
This communion done in all holiness, must be a union not only with Yourself, but with each
other, for we are called to work together as a community.
*1 Corinthians 10 v 16, 17 We all partake of one bread to become one body, Your body*. We stand at the altar, we kneel
before You, as one. We leave the communion service to go out into the world as one.
As one may we spread Your gospel message of love not war, of fairness not malpractice, of hope
not despair, of joy not sadness. May Your Spirit equip us to do this, strengthened by Your real
presence we carry in us.
By Your self gift may we live out Your command to love one another as You have loved us, Lord
Jesus. Let us extol You on the † and proclaim the forgiveness we are so blessed to receive, by the
forgiveness we offer.
May the Spirit make us all one in You, Lord Jesus, to the glory of our Father’s holy plan and
purpose for us all, no exceptions.
You have – and we thank and praise You for this – made us flesh of Your flesh, so as to share in
Your life of love more fully. This involves accepting each other more readily, more honourably.
Thank You for making us Your body on earth out of our individual personalities, each with a
skill and talent to offer in Your service. May these blend together harmoniously for the greater
good of as many as possible.
Together we are made to be the people of God. What an honour, privilege and decided
responsibility! May the Spirit ever open up opportunities for us to work with You, in You,
through You Lord Jesus, You alive in us for we have received You in the Eucharist.
May we strive to make the world a better, gentler, kinder place to live, because You are known,
loved, honoured, followed and thus we give glory to God.
Grant Lord Jesus, in the fullness of life You gift us in Your holiness, we are ever drawn into a
more perfect union with the Trinity, through our union with each other.
Let us never hesitate to assist anyone in any kind of need, want or distress. “How good and
Psalm 133 v 1 how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.” May this mean that finally God is
all in all in us.
I ask this in Your name, Lord Jesus, Your name as Saviour here amongst us, we find an answer,
Your answer, to all social injustice, human and civil rights, seeing an end to all persecution and
any form of destruction. Amen.
