’S FAVOUR AND GOD’S FRIENDSHIP

go down to the pit.” Psalm 28 v 1

“Hear the voice of my supplications when I cry to You...” Psalm 28 v 2
Blessings are where in particular
We can identify God at work
And offer Him all praise and thanksgiving.
God’s favour and God’s friendship
Is meshed in the Son and the Spirit.
Ultimately it is the all loving unity of the Trinity
Which is the source of every blessing.
“Blessed be the LORD, because He has heard the voice of my supplication! The LORD is my strength and my
shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped.” Psalm 28 v 6, 7
“Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him.” Psalm 28 v 7
Some days it is harder to praise, Lord, I suppose according to our moods or what is happening in our
life. But when I read in one of the parables the question “ ‘How much do you owe my
Luke 16 v 5 Master’,” and apply this to the Lord Jesus, I realise that praise is vital, never mind how I feel. But even
then I cannot conjure up praise. I need the help of the anointing Spirt who is in Himself a blessing!
Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I thank You, I praise You for every moment in prayer, whether offered
in the silence of my own heart and not recorded, whether written so I can return to the thoughts or
share them, or whether offered as a part of the liturgy. Prayer in all its varied forms always comes
as a result of Your favour and friendship and this is then strengthened and deepened.
I thank You for the blessings of times of remorse and repentance, clearing away the rubbish in life
according to the blessing of the †. I thank You that thereby we can be put right with You, holy
Father. The marvel of the Lord Jesus’ dying for us must always give rise to the highest praise.
Also it seemed that only once the Lord Jesus had been glorified, could the Holy Spirit be sent to us.
I am not sure why this is? But I am so grateful for the Spirit, the touch fuse of our faith, the power
of prayer, of our faith’s understanding and following. Thank You that the Holy Spirit brings to
pass with our co-operation, all the blessings which are promised. May we not be silent about these,
but broadcast them aloud.
Lord, holy Father, I ask that the Holy Spirit enables me to fill my life with praise of You in
whatever creative way I can manage. “Be this intention THOU: Thy truth, Thy work,
Eric Milner White Thy love, Thy glory.” We see, hear Your truth at work in Your Son and to make Him our guidance
empowered by the Spirit, is to live in the right way.
