“Man by himself is nothing, but with the Holy Spirit he is great...” St John Vianney

For he or she is in pursuit of excellence,
The giftedness of the Spirit, given by Jesus to inspire us to works of holiness.
The Spirit places us in Jesus, making Him our only focus.

“When we have the Holy Spirit, the heart expands – bathes itself in divine love.”
St John Vianney “The Gift of the Holy Spirit”
It is in Jesus, love and hope becomes our true full scope,
Swishing through in all we desire, decide and do,
As we become blessed by the giftedness of the Spirit of Jesus.
“O LORD, You are my God. I will exalt You. I will praise Your name for You have done wonderful
things. Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.” Isaiah 25 v 1
The Spirit aids us to live in the light of God’s truth and holiness.
For how else can we bless each other except by our access through Jesus?
Blessings come from the love we discover in Jesus as the Spirit shows us.

“A soul in whom the Holy Spirit dwells is never weary in the presence of God; his (her) heart
given faith a breath of love...” St John Vianney cont.

“We should say every morning, ‘O God, send me Your Spirit to teach me what I am and what You
are’.” St John Vianney concluded
Dearest Father, I thank You that Jesus teaches us we only have to ask to receive from You as a
Trinity. I ask now for a fresh outpouring of the giftedness of the Spirit.
May He descend upon the church as the blazing, transforming, dross destroying, animating fire
of holy love, making a real difference to any community of believers in Jesus, Your promise.
May the Spirit raise us to everlasting life in our Saviour Redeemer Restorer, so bringing to a
beautiful completion the work of creation and our re-creation through Jesus’ incarnation as
Your word.
Daniel 3 v 89 TNJB “Give thanks to the Lord for He is good, for His love is everlasting,” evident in Jesus’ rescue
plan for us and the subsequent work of the giftedness of the Spirit as He descends upon all who
desire Him and ask.
Cont “Bless the Lord, the God of gods, all who fear Him, give praise and thanks to Him,” as
v 90 Father, Son and Holy Spirit, a most blessed Trinity, “For His love is everlasting!” And this is
shared generously with us.
Surely we only have to look at the †to understand this amazing grace? “When we have the
St John Vianney Holy Spirit, the heart expands – bathes itself in divine love,” so we can give witness to
Jesus and evangelise as the Spirit prompts us.
Let us then praise God for Jesus as we allow ourselves to be led by the Holy Spirit, becoming
increasingly detached from the world and its vanities. Led by the Spirit we are in pursuit of
life’s truths.
These are the truths Jesus came to spell out to us, showing us one overriding purpose of life is to

share in the power of divine love, our life’s calling, its fullest meaning.
Let us then by the giftedness of the spirit, be working together with the Trinity of love to such
Job 38 v 7 an evident extent that “...all the sons (daughters) of God shouted for joy.”
What a wonderful mantra it would be if we could say in all sincerity “The joy of the Lord is
Nehemiah 8 v 10 my strength”, for Jesus is our light, the Holy Spirit our strength, the Father’s love our decided,
declared daily purpose.
Come Holy Spirit, that we distinguish more readily, between good and evil, truth and falsehood,
sincerity and insincerity in our motives, ideas, intentions, decisions. Be ever our safeguarding.
Teach us to see everything in the light of the agape love Jesus has for us, that we see life in its
true proportions. We must realise all greatness emanates from the giftedness You share with us,
offering this to the glory of God.
Be ever our Counsellor, Guide, Helper, Adviser, Healer. Remind us frequently of what Jesus told
us with regards to service, for it is significant.
“ ‘If anyone serves Me, let him (her) follow Me, and where I am, there My servant will be
John 12 v 26 also. If anyone serves Me, him (her) My Father will honour’.” What a privilege, thank You.
May our love always be servant spirited as we follow our King as ardent disciples, works in
good progress. Holy Spirit, Lord, help us please to ever make the most of this, able to love
everybody and do good in the name of Jesus.
For surely this is an outcome of Your giftedness, the leading of Jesus. “ ‘This is My
John 15 v 12 commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you’.” May this happen readily
as Jesus promises us.
“Having these promises, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit,
2 Corinthians 7 v 1 perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” May the giftedness of the Spirit motivate us to love’s
perfection. Amen.
