Daffodils lead the way,
Into a newer, lighter, brighter time,
Like faith does as we pray.
Both colour the day beautifully
In a way which is God given.
Life is driven forwards by purpose.
God has designs for us
And the world all around us.
Just as the daffodil is the portent of spring,
We are meant to be receptive
To whatever it is God asks of us,
Whatever the task that God sets for us.
The seasons have each in turn
A new reason for life.
So do we, if we allow this to happen.
The secret is to be

Then maybe we will make progress
In all the blessed ways of holiness,
Discovering thereby a new life
As full, as colourful, as beautiful
As one day the daffodil will be.
For to discover holiness is to uncover happiness.
Blessed be all the ways of God,
Those ways which lead us forwards.
In faith, with prayer, to increase holiness.
Lord, I thank You that yesterday I saw the very first daffodil of spring opened out early. This felt like an
invitation to ‘Come and See’. This spoke to me of Your promise of new life. Winter is advancing towards its close.
Spring is a favourite time for many, this season symbolic of new growth. May our prayer define Your intentions
for life, for us. Then as You bless us, may we always be enabled to bless You through our faith put into practise.
