“...when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those
who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
2 Thessalonians 1 v 7, 8
Then stand by for action!
Come Holy Spirit of faith, by invitation,
If necessary coming in flaming tongues of fire,
Poured out upon us for cleansing,
For correction, for healing, leading into purity,
Morality, the virtue of our sanctity.
Then indeed this season of Christmas,
Will have been truly remarkably joyous.
As Jesus, is revealed as the Son of God,
As well as Mary’s Baby, a holy Word,
Inspiring, instructing, impacting upon us.
We must make ready now for Jesus’ return
At the time which is heaven’s appointment,
Evil banished forever by our Saviour.
Let us see salvation as it is, a threefold process
To be seriously sought after, undertaken
Looking to our past, our present and future
As to how during such times our Father, conspires to
Address us, assess us, bless us in the Son,
The One we became increasingly dependent upon for justification,
For sanctification as we look to the Spirit of pursuing flaming fire,
As glorification when eventually, we share in
The Lord’s final triumph, heaven our destiny,
Our position, our possession, our delight.
“Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.” 1 Thessalonians 5 v 21, 22

“Do not quench the Spirit.” 1 Thessalonians 5 v 19
Coming, descending as blazing fire. That I can ever be asking that “The God of peace Himself
sanctify us completely; and may our whole spirit, soul and body be preserved blameless
1 Thessalonians 5 v 23 at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ,” who helps us to yield willingly, more submissively
to Your holy will, Father. This accomplishment will happen, can happen, but only if we
continuously yield to the joyous, faith building, uplifting, correcting, cleansing, ever purifying
Spirit of Jesus, He who so generously offers us new birth that we lead a more godly existence.
Thank You that under the Spirit’s guidance and influence we can seek to honour You, Father, in all
we think, desire, plan, do, purpose, say, becoming so absorbed by Jesus, we long to do good to others,
working productively, earnestly. Let then the Spirit of all godliness help us to know the commands of
sacred Scripture so as to abide by these alone, entirely. May we learn to be diligent in all God given
activities, always but always looking to the promised return of our Saviour Jesus, coming next time
to claim us completely as His own, Spirit led works of progress.
I pray in Jesus’ name, that we ever respond to His God given authority, spiritually developed
that together we overcome all that is evil. Please continue to hear and help us. Amen.
