“Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father

Devotion is more than mere emotion.
It is a certain decision and determination.
Devotion is an intention of the mind
Where you pay attention to something in particular.
Devotion is a direction of the heart
Where you start to recognise a high ideal.
Devotion is an appeal to self
To focus more fully on something or someone else.
Devotion is the invitation of faith in a willingness
To focus on Jesus as Lord, the Son of God.
Devotion to Jesus is to honour God’s Son
As the holy One, the Man God to depend upon.
“ ‘Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you’.”
Matthew 7 v 7
Devotion to the Messiah is to aspire
To delight the Father through the Son.
Devotion therefore will make us dependent upon
The One who is the way home to our Father.
Devotion dictates we make adjustments
To Him who is the truth to esteem.
Devotion necessitates that in Christ Jesus
We live a life that seeks holiness.
Devotion thereby will be our witness,
Our prayerful worship and our service in Jesus.
Devotion in faith is the highest calling
Made known to man, shown through obedience.
Devotion is the key to reverence,
Praying, without ceasing, working, striving, all in the name of Jesus.
“Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord knowing that your labour is not
in vain in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 15 v 58
“A (wo)man’s heart plans his (or her) way, but the LORD directs his (or her) steps.” Proverbs 16 v 9
Lord, surely this is so that we can apply to daily living all the practices of faith, undertaken
with devotion. This must be Your desire for us, for it is an invaluable part of the justice which
emanates from the †, re-establishing us as Your children. “The mouth of the righteous speaks
wisdom, and his (or her) tongue talks of justice. The law of God is in his (or her)
Psalm 37 v 30 heart; none of his (nor her) steps shall slide.” Thank You for the promise which is ours to
claim and live by through Jesus.
Psalm 37 v 34 “Wait on the LORD and keep His way, and He shall exalt you to inherit the land,” of
more ardent prayer, stronger faith and deeper devotion. Dearest Father, I thank and praise You for
the love and life we discover in Jesus, in longing to share in His perfect holiness, in
devoting to working towards this, even in spite of challenges, difficulties and setbacks. “The
Psalm 37 v 39 salvation of the righteous is from the LORD; He is their strength in the time of trouble.”
May we claim this as our own prized possession.
