By Delight

“For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face.” 1 Corinthians 13 v 12
Silent and still,
Sitting quietly
In harmony with God.
Recognising His holiness
Evident in His presence.
Union, communion
Of hearts’ seeking.
Not perhaps at the moment
To be speaking,
But simply being,
Enjoying each other.
“The LORD delights in those who reverence Him, who put their hope in His unfailing love.”
Psalm 147 v 11
By delight we discover
The God who is with us.

By delight we discover
The God who is with us.
His reaching out
To touch us
With love, for life.
Life in the fullness
Of His holiness,
Each with a heart
For the other.
Yes, by delight we discover
The love God has for us.

“Now I am known in part, but then I shall know just as I am known.” 1 Corinthians 13 v 12

“And you would be secure, because there is hope…” Job 11 v 18

“Deep and silent and cool as a broad, still, tree-shaded river
Is the peace of Thy presence, Thou rest of our souls.
From the thousand problems of this our hurrying life
We turn, with silent joy, to plunge in Thee,
To steep our souls in Thy quiet depths
Where no clamour of earth disturbs our perfect content.
Thou art our home and refuge;
In Thee we are safe and at peace:
Ever in the din and hurry of the world
We know that Thou art near,
We know that close at hand – closer than our little life –
Floweth that silent river of Thy presence and love.
In a moment we may be with Thee and in Thee,
In a moment be surrounded and soaked in Thy peace;
In a moment, as this loud world clangs round us.
