Tapestry threads intricately interwoven
through, in and out, up and down like life.
A design embroidered in patient love,
work of a delicate, nimble hand.
Every detail of texture and colour
shaped in thought, accomplished in precision.
Beautiful for the eyes to dwell upon,
a wondrous out-pouring of creative talent.
Inspired by what I know not.
But of this I can be certain, at origin
nothing begins without the Creator’s thought.
His mind having beheld beauty without blemish,
the awesome work of His love giving life to vision.
He longed to even out His splendour amongst many.
So He generously offered into our hands His skill,
painstakingly worked into our eyes His vision,
humbly traced upon our thoughts, His own ideas.
Beauty becoming real, taking myriad shape, form,
gladly, richly in the eye of Creator and beholder alike.
This, His lavish gift to us His beloved, beyond all else.
An effective sign of God’s presence on earth.
God overjoyed at our delight in His creation,
In our human dimension, recalling, reliving His experience.
