Oh the August colour,
An anthem to the Sender,
Prior to September splendour.
Mix purple with blue
Glorious when the sun shines through.
All yellow is mellow, a richness almost gold.
Lilac too, lets contrast beam on you.
Scarlet red in the flower bed
Is supremely bold and beautiful.
Whilst pink, I think, lightens the view
To show such delight, nature’s insight.
All offset by verdant green
Emboldening the summer scene in every border.
