A Song Of Rejoicing
Sue O'Donnell

“You are my God, and I will give thanks. You are my God and I will exalt You. Give thanks to the LORD
for He is good, His love endures for ever.” Psalm 118 v 29 TNJB
Sing a new song,
A song of rejoicing,
A song of belonging.
For the Lord our God has worked wonders.
Worked wonders for us in Jesus,
Coming to us in Jesus as saving justice.
By the blessed work of the Spirit, our Helper.
Thus we are a new creation.

“You are my God, and I will give thanks. You are my God and I will exalt You. Give thanks to the LORD

“I thank the LORD for His saving justice. I sing to the name of the Most High.” Psalm 7 v 17 TNJB
No more in sin’s condemnation,
No more suffering a cruel separation.
Jesus, the reparation of all sinfulness,
Jesus is our preparation for heaven.
Offer then all thank and praise to the Trinity,
Our Lord God of amazing mercy,
He who as Three, makes all things new
Through Jesus, blessing us in the Spirit.
Taking us on the easiest, safest, shortest route home to heaven.
“My heart is ready, God, I will sing and make music; come, my glory! ...I will praise You among the
peoples, Yaweh, ...for Your faithful love towers to heaven, and Your distance to the clouds. Be exalted
above the heavens, God, Your glory over the whole earth! To rescue those You love, save with Your
right hand and answer us.” Psalm 108 v 1-6 TNJB

“Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, who alone works wonders; blessed for ever His glorious
name. May the whole world be filled with His glory! Amen! Amen!” Psalm 72 v 18, 19
Lord, ever I would be singing a song of rejoicing for belonging to You, having been redeemed
from my sinfulness, praise be to Jesus.
Thank You too for the invaluable gift of the illuminating Spirit, without whom I do not even
recognise, let alone own the errors of my ways. “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and
Psalm 51 v 10 renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
May the Spirit ever renew my efforts to make a conscious choice to strive to live as Jesus does,
all done out of love. I must practise my faith to gain strength.
Obedience being crucial, I pray for singleness of commitment for all believers. Please grant a
Spirit of faith that persevere and endures in its striving after Jesus.
Psalm 43 v 3 “Oh, send out Your light and Your truth! Let them lead me,” lead all Jesus’ disciples. As we
study and pray the sacred Scriptures, may the Spirit speak to us.
Especially let us hear the call to repentance, our cleansing, healing help, a truly uplifting and
joyous freedom. Thank You for this beneficial experience. May it ever encourage us to try harder
after holiness.
Dearest Father, grant us the grace to overcome entrenched patterns of wrong attitudes,
thoughts, desires, behaviours, speech. May we learn to be patient, with ourselves as well as each
other.
Thank You that each Spirit led encounter with the Lord Jesus results in our wanting our faith
to grow, to flourish, to be shared with others.
Holy love is such an invaluable life gift, I praise and rejoice in this benefit, a real enrichment to
daily living in faith.
based on May we “Sanctify You Lord God, in our hearts and always be ready to give a defence to
1 Peter 3 v 15 everyone who asks us a reason for the hope that is in us,” that hope in Jesus.
Jesus makes such a real difference to our everyday experience and how we handle the challenges.
Through Jesus may we ever offer a song of rejoicing to the Trinity. Amen.
