A Real Presence
Sue O'Donnell

“Hear my prayer, O LORD...in Your faithfulness answer me, and in Your righteousness. Do not enter
into judgment with Your servant, for in Your sight no one living is righteous.” Psalm 143 v 1, 2
In need of mercy, therefore?
Do you wish to come before the Trinity?
How can you do this?
Through the Eucharist.
Jesus is there, a real presence,
Out of love for us to gift us new life.
Let us return this, living for God,
Again through Jesus,
Present to us, in the Spirit.
In the Most Blessed Sacrament.

Jesus’ precious blood shed for us,
His presence is there for us
Upon the holy altar,
Jesus presented as bread and wine.
Here we can offer our Father,
The body, blood, soul and divinity
Of the Messiah, the Saviour.
May the wondrous merits
Of the Sacred Heart of Jesus,
Be our repair, His love to share.
Jesus is reparation
For all the outrageous indifference
And sinful sacrileges
Which are so offensive to the Trinity and cause our separation.
“ ‘For I know the plans I have for you’, declares the Lord, ‘Plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future’.” Jeremiah 29 v 11 NIV
We as poor sinners require conversion
That all evil be extradited
As we become united with Jesus.
For a real presence of holy love
Must make a difference to us,
Touching us by love, through love,
That we grow to know and show love.
Love in all its effectiveness
Is made possible for Jesus’ followers
As we partake of His love,
The blessings of the †of forgiveness.
Surely in one way or another,
We are all in need of mercy?
Then let us come before the Trinity
In the Eucharist,
Enjoying and benefitting from Jesus,

A real presence of love placed before us,
That our life be birthed and cradled in prayer,
In the actual holy love we share, Spirit led.
For no longer must we have fellowship with darkness.
For the answer to the problem of sinfulness
Is to seek, find and follow the Lord Jesus.
“For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with
darkness?” 2 Corinthians 6 v 14
“For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: ‘I will dwell in them and walk among them. I
will be their God and they shall be My people’.” 2 Corinthians 6 v 16
So how is this best accomplished? We must seek separation from all that is unworthy, because it
is unclean and we must do this through seeking, finding and abiding with Jesus.
Jesus will send us His promised Spirit to aid our pursuit of holiness. The Spirit will lead us
away from the ungodly, by drawing our attention to Jesus as Lord and Master as well as being
Saviour, a real presence for the good of all mankind.
The Spirit of God shares the power of God with us in this way. How essential that we pray and
call upon Jesus. Let us do this in the Eucharist.
We must endeavour to turn to our Saviour so as to separate ourselves from anything ungodly. I
am so sorry for the sin and self-centredness which separate us.
May we learn to admit our faults, repentance always a vital preparation pivot to receiving of
Jesus in the Eucharist. For how can sin sit comfortably with a real presence of holiness?
Then having repented with remorse, resolved to take a different course through life, let us
submit to Jesus beneath the impact and influence of the sanctifying Spirit’s holy guidance.
May we endeavour to seek reverence in all earnest, looking to the Spirit of wisdom. “ ‘I,
wisdom, dwell with prudence and find out knowledge and discretion. The fear of the
Proverbs 8 v 12 LORD is to hate evil’.” May we better realise this and respond.
Proverbs 16 v 20 NIV “Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers,” if we but make our earnest appeal for
guidance and deliverance so as not to spoil our resolve.
For, all praise be, made to be temples of the living God, able to carry within us the real presence
of Jesus, this must not be missed.
Dearest Father, in gifting us Jesus and the Eucharist, it is clear that You desire an exclusive
love relationship with us. Hence the † and the memorial in communion, Jesus, remaining with
us, Your promise of holiness.
based on “Therefore having these promises... let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of flesh
2 Corinthians 7 v 1 and spirit, perfecting holiness in reverence of You.”
I ask this in the name of Jesus our Lord and Saviour, the promise of new life, our motivation
based on and dedication when we are in receipt of the Spirit. May we “Make it our own...to be well
2 Corinthians 5 v 9 pleasing to you, through Jesus.”
Yes, this has to be of prime importance to us, of real significance in our life. How grateful I am
therefore, to receive of the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. Thank You. Amen.
