Appreciate The Eucharist
Sue O'Donnell

“My beloved is mine and I am His.” Song of Songs 6 v 3
We are:
A creature of our Father’s love, His own creation,
And amazingly, in spite of our wayward sinfulness,
His re-creation by the Spirit, in Christ Jesus.
Our nature is to be combined, refined, by the holy will,
The holy will of the Trinity in entirety
At work as one Being, the supreme authority.

Then when Jesus comes to us in the Eucharist,
So too, do the Father and the Spirit.
What merit there is in this unity.
We are being invited into a community of love.
“We love Him because He first loved us.” 1 John 4 v 19
Love repeals the wrongs, love heals us.
The love of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit,
This is the love which works for us.
Partake then of the Eucharist in complete confidence of renewal.
The body and blood of Jesus, the bread and wine,
Are the fuel we need to live by spiritually,
Replenishment and nourishment coming directly from the Trinity,
At the hand of love, by the hands of love.
Appreciate love and you will appreciate the Eucharist,
The Eucharist of Jesus, the One God sends to us as salvation.
“ ‘Do not labour for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which
the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him’.” John 6 v 27

“Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is a child of God, and whoever loves the Father loves the
Son.” 1 John 5 v 1 TNJB
Lord, just as confession is called the Sacrament of Reconciliation, the Eucharist could be called
the sacrament of love, Your love for us made evident in Jesus, brought us by the Spirit of love.
Jesus Himself tells us that to believe in Him is to believe in You, Father and this is the true
worth set before us. May the Eucharist strengthen our belief in Jesus as Your living Word, Your
truth, verified by the Spirit.
The source of love and faith are as one, coming to us in You, through Jesus, by the Holy Spirit,
One at work in holy love. May we celebrate this in the Eucharist.
Let the Eucharist strengthen us to show the love we have received. “In this way we know that
1 John 5 v 2 TNJB we love God’s children, when we love God and keep His commandments.”
May we come to understand love, faith and obedience as inseparable. Thank You for the
strengthening of our faith as we feed on Jesus, entering a love relationship within the Trinity.
May this love entry lead us to love each other more fully, more openly, more readily and
evidently, out of the reverence of true obedience, our will becoming conformed to the divine
nature it was intended to be.
Thank You that active holy love is so effective in contributing to the welfare of human society
wherever we are, whatever we do in Jesus’ precious name, that name synonymous with love.
Thank You that receiving of Jesus in the Eucharist, helps us to apply the principles of love, love
as giving and receiving, love as being upbuilding, truly nourishing, life replenishing.
May love ever be our spiritual weapon against all that is godless, all that threatens to destroy
society, all the persecutions satan hurls at us.
There is no greater love than that which we find Jesus offered us at the †of our salvation. The
Eucharist recalls this in a vivid way, thank You, by making the body and blood of Jesus, His
real presence to us.
2 Peter 3 v 13 How rich are the benefits. What we are waiting for, relying on His promises, is the new heaven
TNJB and new earth where uprightness will be at home. “In Jesus, is our foretaste of heaven.”
We are being equipped to live as His brothers and sisters, blessed by His holiness. “So then, ...
while you are waiting, do your best to live blameless and unsullied lives so that He will
v 14 find you at peace.”
May our Christlikeness grow by means of the Eucharist as we learn to measure all things by
Jesus, the Word of life, of love, of purity, of charity.
Oh the manifold blessings of the Eucharist. Ever let us plumb the depths of His love, to “Grow
v 18 in the grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.”
Cont. “To Him”, as to the Trinity as a whole, “Be glory, in time and eternity,” the glory of us being
made holy as we appreciate the Eucharist. The Godhead in us, desiring to work through us, ever
in the unity of holy love.
Let then the world be blessed because we choose to partake of Jesus in the Eucharist, entering
into the true life, the full life of the Trinity. All praise ever be for the power of holy love. Amen.
