A Natural World
Sue O'Donnell

Lord,
I thank You warmly
For every flower and leaf on a tree,
Because I see these prolifically abundant,
Your hand at work painstakingly.
Only a Creator of awesome ability, true majesty,
Could have designed a life
Which carries the glory of beauty.
Your glory, Creator Lord, heavenly Father,
As You afford us a glimpse,
Joyful glimpse of Yourself in the detail of Your action.
Your personality like ours,
Is tied up in how we express ourselves.
Your power is evident in the wonder
Of the urge of life

Lord,
I thank You warmly
For every flower and leaf on a tree,
Because I see these prolifically abundant,
Your hand at work painstakingly.
Only a Creator of awesome ability, true majesty,
Could have designed a life
Which carries the glory of beauty.
Your glory, Creator Lord, heavenly Father,
As You afford us a glimpse,
Joyful glimpse of Yourself in the detail of Your action.
Your personality like ours,
Is tied up in how we express ourselves.
Your power is evident in the wonder
Of the urge of life, the insistent surge of life.
Your purposes and plans
Seem to be surely, a certainty by which you address us?
And what better way than in beauty?
Lord,
I thank You wholeheartedly,
For all the sun, the sand, the sea.
Because I feel there
Your energy at work unceasingly.
Only a Maker with the proper propensity
To give of love out of self,
Could have achieved a natural world
Which carries the glory of beauty,
Inviting us to daily pray our thanksgiving.

Lord, I think of faith with this knowledge: “Faith is not a thing of the mind, it is not an
intellectual certainty or a felt conviction of the heart. It is a sustained decision to
Ruth Burrows take God with utter seriousness as the God of our life.” And I can do this readily when
looking at the natural world. For I see no reason for beauty other than Your desire to please us
out of love for us. For this, truly I thank and praise You.
“Give the LORD His due, sons (daughters) of God, give the LORD His due to glory and
strength, give the LORD the glory due His name, adore the LORD in the splendour of
Psalm 29 v 1, 2 TNJB holiness.” This splendour of holiness is clearly evident in the natural world, the work of

creation. Thank You for allowing us to glimpse Your glory, holy Father. Ever may we appreciate
Your sovereign power and majesty, supreme in authority over all creation. May we honour this
by our care of the environment.
“I will bless the LORD at all times, His praise continually on my lips. I will praise the LORD
from my heart; let the humble hear and rejoice. Proclaim with me the greatness of the Psalm 34 v 1,
2, 3 TNJB LORD, let us acclaim His name together.” “Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders
You have done. The things You planned for us no-one can recount to You; were I to
Psalm 40 v 57 TNJB speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare.” Thank You again for the glory

of beauty so evident to us in the natural world. Amen.
