“Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, that glory may dwell in our land.” (Psalm 85 v 9)
We come in God’s name,
Ever the same name, to be praised.
We come to worship, be faithful in service
Through a loving mercy enduring
Which gifts us the Lord Jesus.
We come with a thanks offering.
We come with a good purpose,
For now is the time of Advent.
We come mindful of how we worship.
We come exalting the holiness of Jesus.
We come in the Spirit to make ready.
We come prayerfully to receive,
To believe in the birth of a Royal Baby.
“Mercy and truth have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed.” (Psalm 85 v 10)
We come, called to the Kingdom.
We come in confident hope with joyous expectation.
We come hoping for revelation.
We come to follow the Lord Jesus.
We come in our lack of godliness, repenting.
We come to seek the holiness of Jesus.
We come readily, eagerly, purposefully praying.
We come to seek the reverence in obedience.
We come to gain entry to a heavenly Kingdom,
Set up on earth for us, by the Lord Jesus.
This kingdom is within us.
Therefore we come and pray ardently.
“Truth shall spring out of the earth, and righteousness shall look down from heaven. Yes, the LORD will give what is good, and our land will yield its increase.” (Psalm 85 v 11, 12)
“Righteousness will go before Him; and shall make His footsteps our pathway.” (Psalm 85 v 11)
Why and how? We come prayerfully, blessed by the Holy Spirit, to be faithful in service throughout Advent, our enthusiasm for the gospel never dampened because “We have no cause to be downhearted because by God’s mercy, we have been given this ministry of glory. For this reason, we have put all shameful ways behind us and have nothing to hide.” (2 Corinthians 4 v 1, 2 The Truth)
Please pray therefore.
