REBORN

Sue O’Donnell. 07.09.20

“Do not retaliate when anyone offends or hurts you. Make sure that they can see clearly that you do what is right. And always live at peace with others, as far as this is possible.” (Romans 12 v 17, 18 The Truth)

In Jesus, we are reborn to be

Sons and daughters of the living God,

All praise ever, ever be now and eternally!

We seek through Jesus, we speak through Him,

For He has given us right standing

Before the throne of grace, love and mercy.

No longer do we have to live independently.

The love of the Lord Jesus, His Spirit given

Is within us, a fresh focus which is dynamic,

Powerful and effective because the Holy Spirit

Is no less than the love shared by our Father and Brother with us.

We pray, having been made holy and righteous

In our Father’s merciful love and forgiveness.

Let us do nothing to impair this.

The incarnate Son of God lives within us!

Grasp this truth, this reality if only we pray,

And life will never be the same retaliatory battle again.

“There is no point in taking revenge; you are to forgive...not judge others.” (Romans 12 v 19 The Truth)

Jesus, by the Holy Spirit, lives and prays within us.

What an honour, what a privilege!

Yes, grasp this in faith and see a change,

A most radical change come about your every day.

It is as we pray, we draw closer to Jesus,

The Holy Spirit, ever kindly, holding us there,

All to the glory of the mercy of God as a Trinity,

That through the ministry of the Church,

The gospel good news of God’s rescue plan for man,

Is drawing us away from all that is evil,

As long as and as often as we pray.

This gospel message spreads out far and wide.

Charity, which is holy, is the blessed result,

For the Holy Trinity is love, love for our humanity.

As we are graced by the dignity of becoming holy,

Made this in Christ Jesus, according to the working of the Spirit.

“Each of us will be held responsible for what we have believed and done. In light of this, we had all better stop judging each other. We must be determined not to cause any of our fellow believers to stumble; nor do we want to make things difficult for them.” (Romans 14 v 12, 13 The Truth)

“It is most important for you to love one another deeply because that love covers a multitude of sins.” (1 Peter 4 v 8 The Truth)

Lord God, as the highest demand upon us is to help one another enter the kingdom of love the Lord Jesus has set up on earth for us, may we strive, living in our Saviour Brother’s truth, His way of life being to love

everybody. Therefore let us pray for everyone to receive the freedom offered us at the †.

The † which culminates in the everlasting inheritance of our entry to heaven, the Lord Jesus having promised us that whoever remains in Him, bears fruit in plenty. Let us then also pray in all praise with thanksgiving,

for our salvation won for us in the saving death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and the grace by which we express our faith through acts of service done lovingly, led by the Spirit. Amen.
