REALISATION

Sue O’Donnell. 04.10.17

“...You are a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, abundant in kindness and did not forsake them.” (Nehemiah 9 v 17)

The love of God empowers me, in Jesus.

The mercy of God motivates me, for the Spirit teaches me.

The power of God protects me, both by the Son and the Spirit.

The presence of God provides for me, Jesus being God with us.

The goodness of God graces me, as the Spirit shows this.

The blessings of God benefit me, through the glorious Trinity.

“For God has said, ‘I will never leave you; I will never abandon you’.” (Hebrews 13 v 5 GNT)

“You are encircled by the arms of the mystery of God.” (St Hildegard of Bingen)

Thank goodness for this realisation, holy Father of such compassionate love You always reach out for us.

I am entirely indebted to You merciful Father, for the most gracious gift of forgiveness, as Your love empowers me in Jesus.

The Spirit of clarity shows me time and time again how merciful You are. Thank You for empowering my understanding as a continuing discovery.

Your living word of wisdom and truth, Jesus ever with us, made known by the Spirit, this is such a particular grace and favour, thank You.

Your goodness knowing no bounds nor limits, Your blessings Father are most particular. “Bless the LORD, O my soul; and all that is within me bless Your holy name” (based on Psalm 103 v 1) as Father, Son and Spirit.

“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from destruction.” (v 2, 3, 4)

Then above and beyond all of these favours, in Jesus, by the Spirit, even this side of eternity, making a real happiness possible, Father of mercies, it is You who crowns us “With loving kindness and tender mercies” (Cont) coming alongside us.

It is this realisation which truly satisfies us, enriching life immeasurably as indeed You are “Merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in mercy.” (v 8)

Saving and healing are Your speciality, cleansing and making well, purifying and restoring us to share in the righteousness of Jesus.

How good, beneficial it is for us to realise all of this. I thank and praise You for Your love, mercy, power, presence, goodness towards us. Richly indeed we are blessed. Amen.
