OUT OF THE DARKNESS

Sue O’Donnell. 30.10.20

“ ‘What strength do I have, that I should hope’?” (Job 6 v 11)

All believers in Christ Jesus can answer this.

Please pray, today!

Pray to, through the Lord Jesus

Asking to the open to the Holy Spirit.

Who knows what blessings

Will then come your way.

Prayer uplifts us,

Shifts anxiety and worry, doubt and despair.

For prayer where we share with Jesus.

Jesus is new life offered us

Do not turn your back on this!

The pressures of life are many,

Where the enemy sneaks in.

Particularly if we are in a hurry,

Too busy we think, to pray.

Then satan has his way, holds sway.

But if we pray, Christ Jesus is with us.

We call on His name and proclaim Him

To be as He is, our stronghold,

Our answer to each and every tribulation.

“ ‘...for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8 v 10)

It is by prayer we learn to be worry free,

Untroubled because holy love casts out fear.

Fear arises when life goes astray.

Life goes off the straight and narrow path

When satan determines to have the last laugh.

But pray for life’s troubles not to overwhelm us.

Prayer is the godly means of escape from distress,

The chaotic mess we get ourselves in,

Or the fret of misery arising from adversity,

Even if we are not directly the cause.

Any time any one of us does disobey the Lord God,

The result is a catastrophe of one kind or another,

But mercifully we have a Saviour Brother.

Our answer is found in the love of Christ Jesus.

We must pray to increase our awareness

Of His highly esteemed, precious, most prized friendship.

Knowing He is with us, herein is our peace,

The release of many, any, a fret and worry.

“To all peoples, nations and languages that dwell in all the earth: peace be multiplied to you.” (Daniel 6 v 25)

“For He is the living God, and steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, and His dominion shall endure to the end. He delivers and rescues, and He works signs and wonders in heaven and on earth...” (Daniel 6 v 26, 27)

Lord, I thank and praise You, that we can pray and You remove us from the many very real difficulties of life. Some are a direct attack by satan, others the result of someone’s carelessness or dishonesty. Whichever,

we can make the psalms our own to pray when troubles threaten to overwhelm us. Thank You for gifting us prayer material such as Psalm 142.

Thank You too, for hearing our prayers of repentance. It is so helpful to have the Penitential Psalms: (6, 32, 38, 51, 102, 130, 143 The New King James Bible) to pray, offering You our troubled sorrow, seeking forgiveness. Please help us to pray all our troubles away, not only for ourselves, but interceding on behalf of those whose burdens seem to be overwhelming, an insurmountable problem. May Your answer always be

found as we pray. Amen.
