“...be filled with God’s Spirit. He will inspire you to rejoice together using psalms, hymns and spiritual songs.” (Ephesians 5 v 18, 19)

This is how we should be,

Because we have every reason

To be happy, truly happy.

We can reach out to touch the Trinity,

That Three in One who love us perfectly.

By this love we know their closeness.

By their closeness we know their kindness.

By such kindness we meet with mercy,

Especially through the sacred heart of Jesus,

Who gave His life up for us on a †.

The †is our salvation, a godly recommendation

Offering us firstly a forgiveness which is holy, taught by the Spirit.

“Sing because there is a song of promise for God in your hearts.” (Ephesians 5 v 10 The Truth)

The Spirit is uniting us to the Lord Jesus’ infinite merits.

To know we have been made of right standing

In the eyes of our Father, us being accepted,

Regarded as the good works of the Lord Jesus,

Herein is our truest, highest, fullest happiness.

Merciful love redeems us then prepares us for heaven.

Why then, would we not be happy?

True happiness is found to be in holiness.

Holiness is our life in the Lord Jesus,

As God is at work with us by the Holy Spirit.

Herein is more than hope, here is our confidence.

We are expectant of becoming more like the Lord Jesus.

“In fact, if you rejoice in the Lord, you will always be thanking your heavenly Father for the way He orders your life, because you are so grateful that you live in Christ Jesus, our Lord.” (Ephesians 5 v 20 The Truth)

Living for the sake of sharing holiness and happiness,

Evident by results when we look around us.

The Spirit of the Lord God and of the Lord Jesus,

Guides us to rise to new life with Jesus.

It is with joy we rise from the tomb, the gloom

In which evil surrounds and suffocates us.

Life is given a new and godly purpose in Jesus.

Together we walk the road to heaven in happiness.

Because this is a unique journey, a speciality,

Walking from the †where we pray for forgiveness,

Casting sin aside to focus on Jesus, the way of holiness,

Enabled to worship with all praise and thanksgiving.

“Yes, your faith will enable you to be one with Jesus Christ when He is revealed in His full praise, glory and honour.” (1 Peter 1 v 7 The Truth)

We are Spirit taught to become humble, penitent,

Lovingly kind, compassionate and always considerate,

For this is how the Lord Jesus is to us,

His life being the love of God in daily action.

What an attraction! Holy love is lovely,

Holy love is happily contented and ever hopeful.

Yes, the gain of holiness leads to the highest happiness.

For integrity allows us to share life fully with the Lord Jesus,

God’s Son, the living One, as sourced by the Spirit.

The Spirit prays in us together with the Lord Jesus.

The Spirit of purity is busy about our sanctity.

This very same Spirit desires to see us made happy.

“The pure in heart are blessed, because they will see God, the Holy One.” (Matthew 5 v 8 The Truth)

“Those who make peace with God and with others are blessed, for they will be known as sons (and daughters) of God.” (Matthew 5 v 9 The Truth)

“While we are in the world it seems that we have to die continually to self for Jesus’ sake, so the life of His Spirit can be revealed through our natural bodies. This process of death is at work in us to enable God’s life to be at work in you!” (Matthew 4 v 11, 12 The Truth)
