“To remember goodness is also a healthy thing.” (Fratelli tutti 240 Pope Francis)

Lord, we are often perplexed, confused,

Troubled, worried, anxious, feel defeated.

We can feel desolate, alone, abandoned.

Such negativity is a sickness requiring healing.

Father, You gift us an answer,

When we call to the Lord Jesus, we find this.

His holiness is a perfect love direct from above.

This goodness is shared with us.

No longer do we look backwards,

Feeling defeated by all our sinfulness.

We move forwards in Christ Jesus love for us.

“ ‘I have a greater witness than John – My teachings and My miracles. The Father gave me works to accomplish, and they prove that He has sent Me’.” (John 5 v 36 NLT)

The Holy Spirit’s offering is momentous,

We realise Your plans, merciful Father,

Are for us to find our happiness in Christ Jesus’ holiness.

His is the way we are to live.

His is the truth we are to live by.

Jesus is the life packed with good purpose,

All as a result of Your merciful loving kindness.

Lord God, Father You send Christ Jesus to us.

He accepted the † for our redemption,

Our replenishment, our restoration, nation by nation.

Jesus’ crucifixion has taken life in a new direction.

“ ‘I say these things that you might be saved’.” (John 5 v 34 NLT)

Let us pray with thanksgiving because: The Lord Jesus prays for us: “ ‘Father, I want those You have given Me to be with Me where I am’.” (John 17 v 23 NLT)

“Then they can see all the glory You gave Me because You loved Me even before the world began’.” ( v 24)

“ ‘Righteous Father, the world doesn’t know You, but I do; and these disciples know You sent Me’.” (v 25)

“ ‘I have revealed You to them, and I will continue to do so’.” ( v 26)

“ ‘Then Your love for Me will be in them, and I will be in them’.” (v 26)

This is the goodness we live by.

Christ Jesus lives in us all to the glory of the Holy Trinity.

We are taught by the Holy Spirit of the Lord Jesus to understand our Master’s holy work, His ways, His wisdom, His truth.

We are invited to become a part of this, united in love with each Person of the Trinity, both individually and collectively.

Jesus’ resurrected life binds us together in love eternally.

This is our Father’s will for our freedom from sin, fulfilled at the †.

We are held safely secure in the Lord Jesus’ love for us, as made known to us, experienced by us in heeding the Holy Spirit.

The abundant structure of heaven has been opened up for us to be fruitful in service undertaken in the name of Christ Jesus.

We have become Christ’s kingdom builders on earth when we pray and persevere in all the ways of holiness.

Heaven is opened up before us by the holiness the Lord Jesus offers to share with us, when we own our need of the Spirit.

We can go out to spread the Good Ness of the gospel, offering hope, peace and joy to everybody, in the power of holy love and mercy.

We have the final weeks of Lent to make ready spiritually for the Easter celebrations.

We are saved in holiness by the Holy Trinity, so must be offering all praise and thanksgiving daily. Amen.
