“Fear not, neither be discouraged.” (Deuteronomy 1 v 21)
God’s loving mercy removes deficiencies:
Wants, needs, pains, sufferings, distresses,
Any, all of the mess we get ourselves into.
Divine mercy is at the very basis of our stability.
God’s mercy is the starting point for the good and godly.
Divine mercy is vigilant in its protection and provision,
Always supplying us with holy strength to sustain us.
Look at the healing †of forgiveness as the perfect example.
Light has shone its holy beam into our darkness to dispense this.
satan no longer exerts any hold whatsoever over us.
No longer should anybody feel unloved, unwanted, not cared for,
Isolated, deficient, a failure, deserted.
“He will be very gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when He hears it, He will answer you.” (Isaiah 30 v 19)
Lord, Your first word to me today
When I felt somewhat anxious and trembly,
Was nothing but mercy speaking directly,
Telling me not to be afraid nor disheartened.
I must develop confidence in this, fully.
You are unreservedly good to us, we only have to think of Jesus.
Or the uplift, gift of the Holy Spirit to realise this.
Always You fight our cause and corner for us if we ask,
And without fuss or bother, but quietly in Your sovereignty.
Divine mercy is more active than we usually realise.
Lord, open our eyes to see Your kindness,
And in appreciating this, to give You the glory.
The Trinity of love is Three in One,
A perfect unity of divine mercy ever kindly.
“May Your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in You.” (Psalm 33 v 22 NIV)
“God has delivered us from such deadly peril, and He will deliver us. On Him we have set our hope that He will continue to deliver us.” (2 Corinthians 1 v 10 NIV)
Lord, how many times I wonder, have You delivered us from the deadly foe without us even realising Your divine mercy was active, there to help us?
That “We had the sentence of death in ourselves,” (2 Corinthians 1 v 9) is of course the deadliest peril. This rescue is evident in the †of Jesus. For this truly I thank You.
All manner of distresses, troubles, trials, persecutions, onslaughts do continue to trouble this fallen world. May we pray and plead mercy for each other.
Make our life stable in faith, trusting and expectantly hopeful in prayer, that we are confidently able to turn to You always, offering thanks for the good and the godly.
Will we ever realise fully how much prayer achieves? Perhaps not, this side of heaven. But may we learn to activate divine mercy through our prayer.
“This poor (wo)man cried out, and the LORD heard him (her), and saved him (her) out of his (her) troubles...Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good.” (Psalm 34 v 6, 8)
What happiness there is in this experience, thank You. “Oh, fear the LORD, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him.” (v 9)
“Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him (her) out of them all.” (v 19) This is what we must hang on to.
Lord, in Your mercy, please continue to protect us, help us, rescue us from all that is evil, that we may live a good and godly life, well ordered as Your care is continuous, thank You. Amen.
